Do you think it raised eyebrows when he said;

Bond,

James Bond!

Interesting nick-name. Is he more of a Sean Connery or Roger Moore?

Greenville: Cop hurt during chase to grab 'drug dealer'

MICHAELANGELO CONTE - JOURNAL STAFF - 1/17

A Jersey City police officer was injured Monday night when he tried to arrest an alleged drug dealer and Bloods street gang member, officials said.

Responding to a tip that a Bloods street gang was trying to set up shop near Arlington Park, police went to the area Monday night, officials said.

Officers saw Alonzo Burch, 42, aka "James Bond," of Union Street in Jersey City, pick up a large batch of suspected marijuana in a parking lot at the Arlington Gardens Public Housing Complex, reports said.

When they approached Burch, he took off running north on Garfield Avenue, reports said.

Officer Dwayne Dowell chased on foot and got a hand on Burch. But Burch allegedly grabbed the officer's hand and twisted it, causing Dowell to fall and suffer a deep cut on his left elbow, reports said. Burch fell, too, but got up and kept running, tossing bags of suspected marijuana as he ran, reports said.

Burch was finally captured at Westervelt Place and Cornelison Avenue at 10:10 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and several weapons and drug distribution charges, police reports said.

Burch served time in prison from June 20, 2003 to March 8, 2005 for drug possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property, state corrections officials said.

Dowell was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for his injuries, reports said.
