Police Beat: Gunman in Jersey City fires shots that strike apartment window, SUV

A gunman fired at least nine rounds in the area of Wegman Parkway and Ocean Avenue early Sunday, shattering the windows of a second floor apartment and sport utility vehicle, according to Jersey City police reports.
When police responded to the scene around 1 a.m. on reports of shots fired, they found a 2006 Jeep Cherokee parked on Wegman Parkway with its rear window shot out, along with nine spent shells on the ground and a bullet lying near the curb, reports said.
Police also found a bullet hole in the bedroom window of a second-floor apartment on Ocean Avenue, reports said.
The 28-year-old resident said she was in her living room when she heard the sound of gunshots and breaking glass, reports said. The bullet was lying on the bedroom floor reports said.
