The thin-built robber who wore a light blue short-sleeved shirt, black pants and a black baseball cap entered the store at Beacon and Baldwin avenues at 7:56 a.m. and asked for loose cigarettes, reports said. When the employee turned to get the cigarettes the robber pulled out a black-handled butcher?s knife, held it to her chest, and demanded money from the cash register, reports said. As the employee opened the cash register, the robber pushed her aside, grabbed $240, and stuffed the cash into a large blue laundry bag, reports said, adding the employee?s wedding ring was also taken. The robber fled east on Beacon and then north on Palisade Avenue, reports said.
