View Larger Map Jersey City man shot in hand Monday, July 11, 2011 By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal Follow A 20-year-old Jersey City resident was shot in the right hand late Saturday night, according to police reports. When police met with the victim at 12:01 a.m. yesterday at Jersey City Medical Center, he said he was standing at Stegman and Van Cleef streets talking with friends when he heard three gunshots and then felt searing pain in his right hand, reports said. Realizing he was shot, the man asked a friend to drive him to the hospital, reports said. The victim told police he did not recognize the shooter.
