Former Hudson County Prep coach admits having sex with teen girl

A teacher at a Hudson County high school has admitted having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl who he coached on two youth sports teams in Ocean County.

Gustavo Bordenabe of Old Bridge faces 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault. He also will have to register as a sex offender under Megan?s Law.

Bordenabe admitted Friday to having a four-month relationship with the girl in 2008, when she was 16. While the teen had played on soccer and softball teams Bordenabe had coached, she wasn?t a member of either team during that time.

Bordenabe was a math teacher and girl?s soccer coach at Hudson County Prep in Jersey City, but was suspended after his December 2008 arrest. His status there wasn?t known yesterday.
