View Larger Map 16-year-old Jersey City boy held down, beat with bats in Heights Friday, May 13, 2011 A 16-year-old Jersey City boy was held down by a man while two boys beat him with baseball bats in the Heights Wednesday evening, officials said yesterday. After the 5:40 p.m. incident at Zabriskie Street and Summit Avenue the victim was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center where doctors used 10 staples to close a cut on the back off his head, officials said. Officers responding to the scene spoke to witnesses who said a truck pulled up and a man, woman and two boys got out, reports said. They told police the man grabbed the victim by the neck and threw him against a wall before knocking him to the ground, reports said. The teenage boys then beat the victim with baseball bats while the man held him down and the woman stood nearby yelling, reports said. The victim said he had been in a fight with a boy earlier in the day and the assault was likely retaliation, reports said. Shortly after the attack, police arrested a 14-year-old Grant Avenue boy on the charges of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, reports said. After undergoing a CAT scan, doctors said the injuries to the victim's head were not life-threatening, reports said. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
