View Larger Map Three masked men with guns rob Jersey City auto repair shop of $5,000 Monday, January 17, 2011 Three masked men carrying guns robbed employees at a Jersey City auto repair shop of more than $5,000 in cash and electronic equipment on Saturday, police reports said. The owner of the shop at Garfield and Bramhall avenues told police that at 5:40 p.m., the three men walked into the garage, closed the bay doors behind them, and ordered him and his mechanic to their knees in the middle of the shop, reports said. One of the gunmen took the time to show the victims that his gun was loaded by displaying the clip, reports said. The 27-year-old owner was forced to hand over his cell phone and about $2,000; and the 46-year-old mechanic handed over $280, reports said. The robbers then ransacked the office and made away with a safe that contained $3,000 in cash, a laptop, and a security camera worth $800, reports said. CHARLES HACK
