View Larger Map Charge: Fled, rammed cops Tuesday, January 18, 2011 A 53-year-old Jersey City felon was arrested Friday night after he fled from police officers trying to pull his car over for running a red light, officials said yesterday. Mark Jennings, of Armstrong Avenue, also rammed a police cruiser with the Chevrolet Monte Carlo he was driving, police said. Jennings was arrested at Fulton and Ocean avenues at 9:04 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, eluding police and weapons offense, reports said. The officers turned on their flashing lights and siren when Jennings ran a red light and sped off on Ocean until he was forced to stop in traffic, reports said, adding that as they got out of their cruiser Jennings took off again. Police said that when the Monte Carlo finally pulled over it went into reverse and backed into the police car but that no one was injured, according to reports. Jennings was in prison from June 13, 2003 to Dec. 30, 2003 and June 7, 2004 to Jan. 11, 2005, for two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property, state corrections records say.
