View Larger Map Death of Jersey City man, 48, classified as suspicious Monday, January 10, 2011 By BRETT WILSHE JOURNAL STAFF WRITERS CHARLES HACK The death of a 48-year-old Jersey City man whose bruised body was found next to his bed Friday has been classified as "suspicious," authorities said. James Robinson, of 337 Martin Luther King Drive, was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m. Friday at the Jersey City Medical Center, after a relative found his body on the floor and called 911, officials said. The cause and manner of death is still under investigation but preliminary autopsy results showed that although he had bruising about his face and body and an injured shoulder, those injuries did not appear to be the cause of death, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said yesterday. DeFazio said the death has been ruled "suspicious," but that could change after additional tests are completed. Police are not sure how long Robinson had been dead before his body was discovered, DeFazio said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's Homicide Squad at (201) 915-1345.
