View Larger Map Boy robbed of cell phone, reported beating by teen thugs and was treated at hospital Monday, July 05, 2010 A Jersey City boy told police yesterday he was beaten to a pulp by five or six teen thugs - all for a cell phone. The juvenile told police he was walking on Claremont Avenue between Arlington and Randolph avenues at around 4:15 a.m. yesterday when the teens beat and punched him on the head and back and at some point he believes he lost consciousness, reports said. While on the ground, one of the robbers went into the victim's pocket and grabbed his burgundy and silver Sprint cell phone, reports said. He was treated at the Jersey City Medical for a cut above his left eye and scratches to his right hand and both elbows, reports said. KEN THORBOURNE
