Jersey City police say man stabbed Tuesday evening outside his Boyd Ave. home

A Jersey City man stabbed outside his home Tuesday night was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center and into surgery, officials said.
Police responded to the hospital at 8:30 p.m. and spoke to the 49-year-old Boyd Avenue man, who said he was standing on the sidewalk outside his apartment when he was attacked, reports said.
The victim said he did not recognize his attacker, who stabbed him in the belly and cut his wrist with a large kitchen knife, reports said. The victim ran back into his home and was driven to the hospital by a friend, reports said.
Doctors found traces of blood in the man's lung and rushed him into surgery, reports said.
