Hans J. Vite, 36, of Jersey City, is still on the run after escaping a Newark halfway house two weeks ago.
Vite was serving a four-year sentence for drug possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, bail jumping, theft and six counts of shoplifting - six of the convictions were for Hudson County crimes, state corrections records say.
Anyone with information on Vite's whereabouts is asked to call the state Department of Corrections Special Investigation Unit - Fugitive Unit at (800) 523-3829.
