A Jersey City man was stabbed in the chest Friday night when he and his brother were jumped by a group of people attending a party in the Heights, reports said.
Officers responding to a complaint of loud music at Prospect Street and Baldwin Avenue at 11:20 p.m. found 10 to 12 people fighting in the street, reports said.
The crowd quickly dispersed, leaving the 23-year-old Prospect Street victim and his brother. The victim had a stab wound to the left side of his rib cage, reports said.
The brother told police he and the victim had walked out of their home when someone from the party bumped into him and said, "You wanna throw down?" reports said.
When the victim tried to diffuse the situation between his brother and the other man, he was attacked, reports said. Police called an ambulance but the victim's brother drove him to Christ Hospital before it arrived, reports said.
