Wednesday, March 17, 2010 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER
A Jersey City woman was charged yesterday with stabbing her husband after finding compromising phone numbers on his cell phone while he slept, police said.
Lateefah Ross, 32, of Bergen and Bramhall avenues, was arrested at her home at 2 a.m. and charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses and domestic violence, reports said.
The 32-year-old victim told officers Ross went through his cell phone while he was sleeping and found information that led her to believe he was cheating on her, reports said.
The man said he awoke to the sounds of Ross screaming and she cut his right arm with a sharp object, reports said, adding that a tussle followed as he tried to avoid being attacked again.
Officers found blood on the floor and walls of the couple's apartment and said the victim was not fully cooperative, reports said. No weapon was recovered.
The victim was taken to Christ Hospital for treatment. The couple's 1-and 12-year-old daughters were both at home at the time of the attack, reports said.
