Off-duty cop chases down two thugs, 14 and 16, after Jersey City girl robbed

An off-duty Jersey City cop answered a robbery victim's plea and chased down two teens who police say stole the girl's duffel bag.

The two boys, a 14-year-old from Neptune Avenue and a 16-year-old from Winfield Avenue, were charged with robbery Thursday, police said.

Officer Jesse Hilburn was driving north on Kennedy Boulevard near Pearsall Avenue at 6:30 p.m. when he spotted a girl

chasing the two boys, reports said. The girl stopped on Kennedy Boulevard and shouted "They just robbed me! They took my bag."

Hilburn followed the two teens south on Kennedy Boulevard to Bartholdi Avenue, where he identified himself as a cop and held them there.

The victim later identified the two boys as the robbers.
