Jersey City cops nab burglary suspect after chase from building site

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Jersey City police reported arresting a burglary suspect yesterday inside a construction site at 445 Washington Blvd.

A security guard at the AJD Construction Site called police and pointed out the suspected burglar when officers arrived at the scene, reports said.

The suspect began to run through the site and one of the officers got out of the police car and chased him on foot, police said.

Officers caught the suspect at Fourth Street and Washington Boulevard and they arrested him, the report said.

The security guard at the scene told police the man took cable wire from site, placed it outside of the construction area, then went back for more.

The suspect's car, which was parked across the street, was impounded, the report said.
