Cops charge 3 with weapon possession
Saturday, November 28, 2009
Two Jersey City men and a Virginia man were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon during an undercover drug investigation, Jersey City police said yesterday.
Louie Pham and Axel Rodriguez, both of Jersey City, and Philip Robinson, of Hampton, Va., - all age 20 - were charged at 9 p.m. Wednesday in an incident that began when an undercover narcotics team saw Rodriguez in the driver's seat of a black Acura parked at the corner of Johnston and Pacific avenues.
Pham was in the back seat, police said.
Robinson appeared to come from behind a house and entered the vehicle, police said.
The group then spotted police and fled at a high speed, police said.
Police took chase and stopped the Acura on Grand Street just east of Pacific Avenue, police said.
An officer spotted a .22-caliber Amadeo Rossi Model 62 SAC pump action long rifle under Rodriguez' leg, and the trio was arrested and charged, police said.
