Bullet through leg, but 'uncooperative'

A man walked into the Jersey City Medical Center emergency room with a wound from a bullet that had passed completely through his leg yesterday evening, but he would not cooperate with police, officials said.

The man said he was at a public laundry across the street from the Montgomery Gardens public housing complex just before 5 p.m. when he was shot, reports said. But officers who responded to the Medical Center said the victim was uncooperative and would provide no additional information, officials said.
