i guess the poster who was asking about corbin street safety should be aware of this post. although i find it strange that 9 times out of 10, it's the people with large amounts of cash that get robbed in JC. at least she wasn't hurt

Thief grabs purse at her front door A 44-year-old woman was robbed in front of her apartment on Jersey City's Dekalb Avenue Sunday night, according to police reports. The victim, coming home from her sister's party, was attacked from behind when she tried to open her front door, police reports said. The robber snatched her purse from her arm, according to police reports. The woman told police she ran after her robber on Dekalb and West Side avenues, but could not catch up. The woman's purse was found in an alleyway between 1 and 3 Corbin Ave., with $1,500 and a pair of shoes missing, according to police. CLAIRE MOSES
