Neighbor, 61, restrains burglar

Restrained by a 61-year-old until police arrived, a 46-year-old Jersey City man was arrested Saturday after he was caught trying to crawl into and burglarize a garage, reports said.

The 61-year-old first spotted Keith Gray, of Woodlawn Avenue, walking through his Stevens Avenue backyard around 6:24 p.m., reports said.

Curious about who this stranger was, the 61-year-old stopped eating dinner and went outside to confront Gray, reports said.

But he couldn't find the stranger right away. He strolled down the block and then spotted Gray trying to crawl under the door of a neighbor's garage, reports said.

The 61-year-old rang the doorbell to alert his neighbor, an 80-year-old woman, and then grabbed Gray and held him - up against the garage, hands up in the air - until police arrived, reports said.
