(Sigh) So much for keeping the punks off the stoop!!

Odds that the illegally parked SUV was driven to the gym? Or was it an AmCare driver?

Hazmat truck hits illegally parked SUV

Thursday, July 26, 2007
By BERNETTE PEARSON
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

A Jersey City hazardous materials truck was involved in an accident with an illegally parked sport utility vehicle on the corner of Eighth and Division streets yesterday while on its way to investigate an incident, city spokesman Stan Eason said.

The SUV was parked too close to the intersection, barely allowing any space for a car to turn, but the Hazmat truck driver attempted to navigate it anyway, and hit the SUV at 8:18 a.m., Eason said.

The Jersey City Hazmat truck was on its way to a Summit Avenue building to investigate a suspicious substance in front of the building. Bayonne's Hazmat team responded and concluded that the substance was white chalk.

There were no injuries or major damages to either of the vehicles in the, but the SUV driver was issued a summons, Eason said.
