Re: Am I wasting time fighitng this parking ticket?

Yes you are. I just got an 80 dollar ticket for "blocking the intersection" when there was another car parked behind me clearly blocking the intersection (yes, ticket was in my name) I cant take off from work to fight it so I had my wife go to court. They told her she cannot represent me in court, so I would have to take the day. It'll cost me more to take off so we decided to plead guilty and pay the 80 bucks only to find out that with court fees its now 130.

Glad my wife took the day off to get screwed by the wonderful JC court system.

I know you're all gonna hate me for saying it - but Greek to Me has a real good hummus.

I'd say the best in downtown is Rustique, Bon Appitito, and that new place by the beer garden, Abbondanza Trattoria. Which happens to have great food too (and is byo)

Nicks Village was the worst ruse ever. Yes, the people there looked like Italians that know good cooking, but couldn't even come close to making a good slice of pizza. What we could really use in JC is some sort of Italian market where we can get prepared Italian food, and different Italian meats and cheeses. Kinda like a Tuscany Deli or a Top Tomato if any of you guys are familiar with those chains.

I just left Direct to return to Comcast. Both have VERY similar prices. DTV recently teamed up with Fios' internet so you can get a bundle for net and TV, but if you want all channels and a decent internet speed you're paying pretty much the same price - only difference, with DTV you wont be able to watch anything in the rain, snow, and on most cloudy days.

For the bundle question, everything seemed to be much more expensive without the bundle. I even got a land line from comcast because it was actually cheaper to be in the "triple play" than to just have TV and internet.

Hey,

I'm using Regina Maids right now, and they're saying it costs $53 dollars an hour for two girls. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment, the girls get here and claim they need another 2 hours. that'll be over $200 dollars to clean my whole place! Seems very different from what I'm reading on this blog, am I getting royally ripped off or is this what these things cost?

I hear you on them not being the nicest counter guys, but they have gotten better. I had that same "they're dicks, I'm never going there again" attitude until I went there again. Their pork and fish tacos are so good, its so worth it. Plus they've been so much nicer. I haven't seen the guy with the "dick" attitude in a while.

In a town that doesnt have the best mexican, its hard to hold a grudge on Taqueria!

Everything i've had at Hard Grove has been disgusting, and i keep going back and trying 'cause i want it to be good so bad. i love cuban food and that place is so close to my house, but it ALWAYS lets me down. If you want good Cuban you gotta head to the mall area and go to Azucar

Good Veggie stuff that my fiance and i like are:

Tanquaria - great fish tacos and they also have tortas with avocado (the only good mexican around the grove st area)
Merchant - great veggie burger and veggie loaf. their hummus flat bread is pretty good too
Subia - great food all around, just kind of expensive
Ibbys - wonderful falafel
Raaz (indian place by the mall) they have really good veggie options and tasty food
Its Greek to Me - not the greatest food in the world, but they have good hummus and always have veggie options (being byob doesnt hurt either)
Amelias Bistro - again a little expensive but has a really good eggplant sandwich

hope that helps
