I feel your pain. I commute from 280 to Jersey City every weekend and its very annoying to take the Fish House Rd detour which adds about 20-30 min to the drive.

I always check http://www.511nj.org/ before heading to Jersey City. Google Maps is not reliable for the Wittpenn Bridge. Just the other weekend, as I was taking the detour to get around the Wittpenn Bridge GoogleMaps showed it was open(Green).

Re: Speeding Ticket

Not too shy to talk

I got a speeding ticket 40 in a 25. This is a 4 point ticket. I went to court to plead it down. The prosecutor gave me the option of reducing the 4 point speeding ticket (39:4?98) to driving in an unsafe manner (39:4?97.2) with no points for $389 so I took the deal. ($106 for the ticket, $33 for court fees and $250 for the surcharge) = $389.

Two months later my monthly payments go from $105/month to $140/month. I called up GIECO and ask why have my payments gone up? I was told you have a moving violation on your record. I replied, I paid to have those points dropped. I was told, it does not matter if I have points or not, its still a moving violation. So, I ask if I kept the 4 points how much would I be paying for insurance? I was told, THE SAME AMOUNT.

I paid $389 dollars to prevent my insurance from going up and it went up anyway.

My advice is to swallow the ticket since your insurance is going to increase anyway. I would spend your money on a defensive driving course (approved both by the DMV and your insurance company) that will drop 2 points of your license and get a discount towards your insurance.

You need to visit the tax assessor's office in City Hall. I would bring your approval letter/notice of your property with you.

I might be responding to late to help you but here it goes anyway.
A parking ticket for an expired meter should have the meter # included on the ticket. I would call the court on Summit Ave and plead not guilty. I would take a picture of the meter that was malfunctioning and bring it to court with you. Hopefully, it won?t be repaired before you take your pictures.
I have fought many bogus tickets, pleaded my case and won. Most often, if you show physical pictures and have a convincing story the judge will give you the benefit of the doubt and dismiss the ticket. You cannot bring in your personal camera and ask the judge to search through pictures you have taken.
Im not sure about the street cleaning ticket with an intersection instead of address is valid or not. I would look at the street cleaning sign on the side street of the blocked you were parked on see if it corresponds with the time on the ticket. Again, if you have pictures and the convincing story the ticket may get dismissed. If your found guilty, you can pay the ticket at the court. Let us know what happened!

I would have followed the owner while calling the police on my cell phone depending on the condition of my arm.
I walk by Van Vorst Park weekly on my way to Pathmark and I always see dogs off the leash.

Once, I was on the York St side of the park and this dog ran out of the park on to the sidewalk and proceeded to bark and lunge at me in a vicious manner. I yelled out \"come get this dog\". I then hear women call to the dog. The dog did not respond at all. She then casually walks over while her dog is still barking and lunging at me. I told her \"get this dog away from me\". She said \"Im trying\", I replied, \"you?re not trying hard enough\". She kept calling the dogs name and whistling. This dog would not back off. Finally, she walks over and puts the leash on the dog and dragged the dog away from me.

I told her since her dog is not trained and does not respond to her commands, she should not take the dog off the leash.

From that day on, I always keep a pocket knife with me if I walk the streets. If this situation arises again I will be prepared.

Well, there are the two peddlers that switch places all day between Lee's Fruit & Vegetable and A-1 deli demanding change. Its a tall lankey dark skinned black guy and a petite cubby black woman.

There is also this very tall and thin older white guy that is allways walking is overweight basset hound. He used to have two basset hounds. I guess one of them died.

My advice: Only accept a plea bargain if it turns into a non-moving violation Ex seatbelt, cellphone.. ect.

Ask PS&G for a meter reading schedule for your bulding. If they cant read your meters then they will estimate your usage for that month. Most times they will over estimate your usage and sometimes they will under estimate your usage.

Make sure someone is availabe during the morning of your meter reading to pervent you from being overchaged.

I'm glad to hear you went to the phonebook. Erin mentioned that she called the cops not any veterinarians. That is why I brougth up the phonebook.

There are a couple animal clinics that have give an emergency number at the end of their recorded message. Animal Clinic of Bayonne is one for sure.
What advice did the cops give? By the way hows the cat doing?

You should have immidiately grabbed a phonebook and went to the Veterinarian section in the yellow pages to look for a 24 hour animal hospital before asking people on JClist.

Did it get rid of the ants? You might have to use some dishwashing liquid to clean up the the residue but thats the least of your worries.

Observing an arguement over a few tomatoes is no reason to stop making purchaces at A1-deli.

I have bought avacadoes from Lees a few times over the years when they looked good on the outside and turned out they were rotten on the inside. Mrs. Lee accused me of swaping avacadoes from they competitors on Newark Ave and reluctantly refunded me.

The only problem I have with A1-deli are the bums and junkies that beg for money as you walk in and out of their store.
