Re: Downtown: Guy Stealing Packages and Mail.

I live by Hamilton Park and have lost two packages (FedEx and UPS) in the last couple of months. And today, I was left a note from FedEx that said my package has been left under the garbage can down the steps. When I returned from work, I could see the garbage can turned upside down, but the package was missing under it. This is getting ridiculous! I dont know if the delivery guy is being dishonest or if someone is stealing packages. Is someone else having the same problem? I know I wont get my packages back, but I feel I cant be the only one here.

Why does her husband have to ring the doorbell to get into their married abode?

That is probably an Indian thing. Husbands in India (normally) dont carry the keys to their abode when they go to work since they know their wives (I'm referring to housewives here) are at home to welcome them. Apparently, there is nothing more fascinating for the man than ringing the doorbell and the wife opening the door with a big smile, a hug, a kiss and a steaming cup of tea! That intimacy is supposedly not there when the husband uses his own key. Many times, the husband doesnt even have to ring if he drives to work, the sound of the arriving vehicle is enough

Xerxes,
No, that's not the one I'm talking about.. this one is on Gardner Ave.

I agree that this is not the best of areas and I would not personally live there too, but I'm considering buying this property for rental since the numbers seem to make sense. I'm not going with a buyer's agent. Do I really need one?

Buying house - Gardner and Summit Ave - Suggestions needed

Hello folks,
I live in downtown JC. I have been researching on two family properties for investment for a while now and have narrowed down on one in Gardner Ave at Summit Ave in the Bergen-Lafayette section of JC.

What do you think of the area in terms of crime, schools, commute to Manhattan, etc? Any comments or suggestions are welcome ASAP!

Thank you very much!

Thanks for the replies. Are there buses at the Neptune Ave / Ocean Ave or Neptune Ave / Garfield Ave that connect to Journal Sq / Newport / Port Authority?

Buying home in Neptune Ave at Ocean Avenue in Jersey City

I'm planning to buy a multifamily home in the Neptune Ave / Ocean Ave intersection area and I believe it is south of the so-called high-crime areas in Greenville and a few blocks from the Danforth Ave light rail station. I'm planning to live in one apartment and rent the other. I'm newly married and will be living there with my wife. I'm problem-free and mind my own job. Do you think i can make a safe and decent living in the area? Thanks in advance.
