the house at the corner the NW corner of Erie and 1st always had a parking spot...it wasn't used for the last few years while the property has been sold and resold and then undergone a major renovation.

Pam I think it's great your running...don't forget to bring a milk crate in so you can reach the ballot! Vote for Fleming/ Andes and all the candidates running for County Committee Member against the Hudson County Democratic Organization.Rage against the machine!

FELLOW DEMOCRATS DO NOT VOTE FOR JON CORZINE IN THE PRIMARY...HE IS NOT A FRIEND OF CITY SCHOOL CHILDREN...OR CHARTER SCHOOLS. HE HAS BEEN A BAD GOVERNOR..PERSONAL MISGIVINGS AND DISPLAYS A LACK OF EMPATHY. HE IS A POLITICAN IN THE WORST SENSE OF THE WORD.

Dear Mr. Catrillo,

Please use the extra campaign money and your future pay raise to fix up that eyesore that you call home. I'm all for historic preservation but I'd rather not relive the depression.

Will your campaign staff continue to meet at The Algonquin Round Table?....they are a witty bunch of individuals ..bringing back the pun!

Your Our (fall) Guy

Catrillo and his people ran an ugly hateful campaign...after Tuesday he can crawl back under his rock and just be another civil servant pawn who can and will be replaced if they don't donate and campaign for the disgraceful machine.Simple minded Catrillo hates " outsiders" like Fulop ,they hate that Fulop thinks for himself, they hate that Fulop can't be bought( Sean Conners how's your big pay raise) They hate that Fulop is intelligent and will achieve remarkable things in his life.

Full disclosure I'm an outsider ...I've only been in the area 23 years and Ward E 14 years

Full disclosure ..I don't work for the city, county, state.

Full disclosure...I may not achieve remarkable things in my life but am doing my best to raise a nice family and am proud to live in Steve Fulops ward and call him a friend.

being that said e-mail was sent by an HPNA board member
being that HPNA was sponsoring a debate 2 days later being that non-profits are forbidden from endorsing political candiates I have come to my conclusion that said HPNA board member used poor judgement in sending out a political e-mail. The issue is now over.

Let it be written
Let it be said

KNOWITALL

ps. what would happen if A League of Woman Voters board member, an organization that sponsors numerous presidential debates, send out a politically oriented e-mail?

I think the personel attacks on Guy Catrillo are counterproductive to re-electing Fulops . I have had several dealings with Guy and found him an affable and helpful civil servant. I would never vote for him for various reasons..the main one being that Steven Fulop is a great councilman and a far superior candidate. Lets focus on Fulops body of work so be don't sound like elitist snobs.

Some examples of taxes in downtown.

1 bedroom condo 500 sq ft 3rd street...condo conversion taxes approx 6000k

2 family brownstone..1 block from Hamilton Park $6700k

2 bedroom condo..bay street tax abated $9770

2 bedroom condo coles street 15k( the abatment ended)

We need a revaluation...

There is a big misconception on tax abated properties. Tax abated property owners do pay taxes and usually much higher than non-abated properties. I know people who pay 7k a year, to live in a tax abated property, for a 1 bedroom.

Granted abatements hurt the school system but the citizens who live in these properties are not getting a free ride. The whole city needs a revalution.

LCCS is working on bus transportation but it I believe they will have to charge for the service. The new facility is worth the inconvenience and by and large downtown parents will make the journey uptown.

this was a major f-up. The White House Press Secreatary handled it very poorly. people were very scared..my beloved was heading into 101 Hudson when the planes flew over...towards our kids grammar school..she was in lower Manhatten on 9/11. didn't need to relive that day.

Councilman Fulops voting record on The Embankment speaks for itself. I think it is wrong for G_Elkind to criticize Fulop and Levin ...perhaps failing schools, high crime, rising property taxes, double dipping and quality of life issues receive priority from the respective candidates.

less than 50% of people own dogs...non-do owners should band together and demand that at least 50% of the park is pet-free.

Don makes several good points but aside from winter what isn't peak season for Hamilton Park? i advocate start it and get it done with..I don't trust that the money will be there in the future. In my opinion The long term benefits far outweigh the the inconvenience.

on a serious note there is a lack of park space for kids/ young adults but they should close down hoops at 10pm and not litter

to repeat.. a good portion of madoffs investments were made by financial advisors who were investing their clients funds...from what i've read some were as small as $1000 ...some were charitable trusts and non-profits. madoff had a long history of paying people( the nature of ponzi)

non-profits and charitable trusts were heavily invested w/ madoff...few directly with madoff but with investment people who then invested with him. I find the lack of empathy appalling.....i have a good friend who works for a charitable trust who as a result of her chraity's greed(?) will loose her job. Bitter a- holes on this site..
