Whenever I walk on the portion of Warren Street that runs by Saint Peters Prep downtown, I alway's notice that when school is in session there is alway's a vendor parked there with the umbrella selling crap to the kids. Donuts, candy, soda, etc. Has anybody else seen this? It just seems ridiculous to me that this is allowed to happen. Pathetic actually.

"He's a typical teenager," Traci Felton said about her nephew.

Is he a typical teen from that nieghborhood, then what's her point. I have personally been robbed at gunpoint by one of the "so called typical teens" from these nieghborhoods and if all the facts are true then its no suprise. If I was getting robbed and had a chance to shoot, I wouldn't have stopped at one bullet.

If the story is not true god bless him...If the story is true god help him!

Foxes isn't a film...phdog means that its like the old Foxes nightclub... I personallly used to be a bouncer at Foxes and phdog has it right on the money...The bad thing is that Ringside is actually a lot worse. Everytime someone tells me they are going there i plead with them not to. I know so many stories its ridiculous. Its unbelievalble that only now is a spotlight being put on them.

Little Manhattan? Let's try baby steps. We should settle for becoming a Little Des Moines or Little Omaha first.

Are you kidding,
This bust is only the second thing he actually got caught doing. Trust me I know what I'm talking about. I am sure there is a lot he hasn't got caught doing. "My Beat" sounds like a fellow officer's to me. Good for u for sticking up for your friend. But time to get realistic. Whoever was raised in downtown will know what I am talking about.

Ever since the new owner of Hernandez put his stacks* together to buy the restaurant it went downhill. The food and culture used to rock. It saddens me to see what happened to it. My dad used to take me there to eat as a kid.

I hope that azzwhole gets f'ing life. He's an arrogant little prick that deserves everything he gets.

Stacks (st acks)- Large sums of money that are usually illegally obtained, saved up for a purpose. ex. Lawyer, fronts, drugs, cars, Hoes etc.

LOLOLOLOL so sad

I can't believe someone is actually complaining about crossing guards. This is a new low of complaining, even for jclist.
I don't think its a low..How does a crossing guard make that much? That is absolutely ridiculous. I know people who work for the board of ed, working with kids with special needs and they only make about $21,000 starting. Thats a damn shame in comparison.
Yes, this should be a free ticket to beat the piss out of anyone who can't act and function normally in society without causing terror, pain, fear and suffering on innocent others who don't deserve this. Vigilantism? Sure, why not?

I agree, I travel around that area all the time and I guarantee you; whatever the age of the person that did this should have the shit literally beat out of him...seriously like brutally...

IS THE BEER GARDEN OWNER RACIST!
#10
Newbie
Newbie

I recently went to the Beer Garten. As I approached the entrance the bouncer told me that my jeans were too baggy. I asked to speak to the owner and was allowed to. the owner said it wasnt me but my freind. I pointed out that i was told to wear some banana republic next time. He said he was refering to my friend.

Weirdly enough my friend was wearing very form fitting clothing. I had on baggy jeans because im a bit heavy and banana republic are not made for me.

He then said that my friend's hat was the problem. He added on how he didnt want thugs in his bar. I told him dont judge a book by its cover because we were educators. I added was he acting like this because we were hispanic. He said no and acted funny saying my freind could stay if he took his hat off.

His behavior dissapointed me because I love his establishment . The decor, ambiance, and the aray of beers are so different.

Later, as he was passing my freind, my freind told him that we were cool. He got upset and said take your hat off.

Another freind that was with us and is caucasian told the owner why didn't the 5 white guys behind us asked to take their hat off and he responded just dont come back. What kind of Shyt is that. Ironically their was a fight later that night between two white guys. "But we're thugs right"

I was insulted because I had told so many people how cool and calm it was their.

I havent been back since...... I say hes a racist basturd ....and I think Mr. Fulop was having or had a fund raiser their..careful who you make freinds with....They might hinder your goals

Hello people,
Just a little word of advice. Downtoen has changed but there are element downtown that will still commit a lot of these petty crimes. I personally used to be one of the element years ago when i was a child that would create mischief or take a bike here and there. SHAME ON ME....but take my word for it..dont park your bikes unattended or in areas where there isnt a lot of traffic.

I grew up when you couldnt even ride your bike in the vanvorst area because it would be taken off of you. take my advice...dont assume a change in scenery is a change in people...

I also noticed some people lost their bikes in areas where there are projects or housing....Not a coincidence

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSSES

Apparently it started near Sandbar - my friend was out walking her dog when she heard the gunshots and ran for the hills. It really has to change and I'm afraid that its not going to. And the more we coddle these criminals, the closer and closer its going to hit home...they have zero respect for those of us who work and EARN our money - its easier for them to steal. And they obviously have zero respect for the police - but why should they? They get arrested and let out just as quickly.

This is Defintiely true a have a lot of aquanitences of mine that shouldnt be let out and there on the street....it is such bull....this is why I've distanced my self from all of these people...there has been no evolvement from a majority of the people i grew up with.

Sadly enough maybe its time to bring back firing squads...because keeping them in jail will only costs us taxpayers more money or raise taxes.

I might agree...with the efforts and it is sad to say that it took more than 25 years to clean it up, but it is a change..however little it might be....I still stick behind my yuppie comments. Gulliani was a good point becasue he made it so that i couldn't go to any more bodegas on the corners in manhattan to buy some herb...lol..He did a great job...So you are right when you hint at the possibilities of the change in downtown...

The greenville area above the blvd all the way down needs to be addressed with an atom bomb. Regardles of how many new construction buildings go up in those neighborhood I dont see any change happening now or in the future.

Havent been on in a while but for those who grew up here...Crime is drastically reduced here. You should have been around when I was growing up.

This is why all you yuppies are buying up all the property cause of the change...

For those who know him Officer Molina was the one shot in the back . Or Jr. for those who know him...

Countless "element" go into some of our not so great nieghborhood to flip a buck rather than improve the nieghbor hood and then complain when shti happens....boo hoo...Cry me a river Trust me when i say...sadly enough this is a lot better....

Those who dont like it do have the option to move...change takes a long time......A LONG TIME.......

Shane did I hurt your feelings? Are we a little sensitive? I usually don't respond to internet thugs who use the net to try and get brollick. But you are right..
