I 2nd DeCarlos. Best in town. A bit pricier than usual but if you have a good suit, it's worth every penny. The guy knows what he's doing and very courteous to his customers. He'll take his time measuring your suit to your body. I've went to places where they'll measure you in less than a minute. This guy takes his time to make sure it's right.

Good luck.

Trupanion. Best pet insurance around. They only service they don't cover is check ups. Besides that, they cover 90% of the bill. Even for prescription drugs they cover 90% and prescription food they cover 75% - all hassle free. Takes them about 2 weeks to reimburse your money back.

One of my cat is seriously ill. First time he went to emergency hospital the bill came to around $8000 (stayed a week) and I've got around 6500 back. Second time he went to E.R bill was around $3000 and i got back around 2000. My cat is on medication for life, he's monthly prescription drugs cost around $120 and i get 90% of that back.

Customer service is great and really cares about your pet. They follow up on everything and knows what they're doing.

I'm really grateful that there is such a service as Trupanion out there or else I would've put my cat to sleep already (no way I can handle an $11000 medical bill.

On the side note, why can't human health insurance provide this type of coverage!?!?!?

Local Health Insurance Broker

Hi All,

Can someone suggest me a local Jersey City health insurance broker?

I'm planning to purchase health insurance (for me and wifey) and I think it's best if I sit down with a broker who knows NJ health insurance rules instead of picking one out online.

TIA.

Since your dog saw it, how did the dog respond to this? Was the dog as scared as you are?

It's not just about your dog ya know.....what about the birds and squirrels? Were they terrified as well?

I've always been happy with PATH. Train is clean (compare to NYC), waiting time is reasonable (compare to NYC), fare is great (compare to NYC), and people who takes the train seems normal (NYC subway has lots of weird riders or high school students acting up).

Why peeps complaining about PATH is beyond my explanation.

@ Brewster - Yea, it's like Buffalo wings piece but just a size bigger.

Remember, that's $7.48 for wings only, if you want a combination like 3 wings and 3 legs, they'll add up the price.

For sure the food is good but I don't think they'll last long if they don't change the price.

Who gives them the idea that people will frequently eat at a fast food joint paying $7.48 for 6 chicken wings and drinks not included? It's too pricey for 6 chicken wings and it's too pricey for fast food appetizer. They need a reality check.

Last time I had Bon Chon was a month ago (Fort Lee location) and I told my wife I wouldn't go there again until next year the earliest. To some ppl I guess it's worth it, but I'll take my $ somewhere else to fill up my tummy.

Canco is making a great improvement in JSQ.

If there are more big developers in JSQ area following Canco's footsteps, JSQ will turn out nicely.

Can't wait till the day when the developer starts building the 2 tower on JSQ path, it will be magnificent.

Donald Trump sued for fraud over Trump SoHo condo
#17
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? Donald Trump and the promoters of his Trump SoHo hotel-condominium were sued by buyers who accused them of fraudulently touting out-sized sales figures to encourage them to buy units and inflate the project's financial health.

The lawsuit by 15 plaintiffs was filed late Monday in Manhattan federal court, less than four months after the 46-story building opened and three months after the offering plan went effective, allowing closings to begin.

Trump SoHo is a venture between the Trump Organization, which manages the building, and Bayrock Group LLC and Sapir Organization LLC, which formed its sponsor Bayrock/Sapir Organization LLC. The smallest units start at $1.2 million.

The complaint said the defendants in sales pitches and to the media during the first 18 months of marketing advertised that the building was "30, 40, 50, 60 percent or more sold."

Instead, when the offering plan went effective, buyers learned that just 62 of the 391 units, or 16 percent, had been sold, the complaint said. A minimum of 15 percent was needed for the plan to go effective.

Many banks will not lend to buyers of condominium units when sponsors still own a large percentage of the units, often 50 percent. Lawyers believe there can be greater risks when that happens because of the sponsors' obligations to their own lenders and to the condominium itself.

"Not only were the plaintiffs individually misled into signing their contracts," lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey wrote, "the defendants' collective efforts to pump up sales through false and misleading statements caused all buyers to miss an option to revoke their contract that they all should have had in the absence of fraud."

The complaint seeks to rescind purchase contracts, a refund of $1.75 million of deposits and punitive damages.

Jonathan Canter, a lawyer representing Bayrock/Sapir, said in a statement the sponsor in a filing with the state attorney general's office identified the "15 percent minimum number of units" required to have the plan go effective, though more than 100 units, or 26 percent, were in contract at the time.

The developer on Tuesday separately said it has closed on the sale of 20 units for more than $26 million.

In a separate statement, Donald Trump said the building has "done exceedingly well" since its opening.

"This case is simply a matter of buyers' remorse," he said, referring to the lawsuit. Other defendants include Trump's children Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Trump SoHo is unusual in that owners are limited to staying in their units no more than 120 days a year and no more than 29 consecutive days in any 36-day period. Units are rented to hotel guests when owners are away.

The case is Palmer Gardens LLC v. Bayrock/Sapir Organization LLC, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 10-05830.

I understand what you're saying, it is cruel to revive a baby knowing the child will be a vegetable. But there's two sides to the story.....

Giving a chance to revive the dead is what doctors/EMT do. It's there duty. It's not for the doctors/EMT to judge what will happen afterward if they revive/cure the patient.

If a criminal was shot by a cop, should the doctor let the criminal bleed to death because they know once they're recovered they'll do harm to the public again? I really wish they can (many of them deserves it) but it's not in there profession to do so, then what's the difference of being a murderer?

It's their job to revive/cure the patient and it's the family or judge to decide what to do with them afterward. Doc's and EMT do what they're best at, giving any type of chance to bring the person back.

Before enforcing any other unimportant laws, they should enforce the crime rate stricter, like what Mayor Giuliani did to NYC.

And, what's going on with the intersection at Newark ave and route 1/9. There seems to be full-time homeless ppl asking for money in the middle of the road.

I understand if they're on the sidewalk after the light turns green, but few of them just hang in the middle of the road when it''s green light.

I'm a resident at Canco. Don't know much about raising up their price. I guess what I got was a pretty good deal few months back ago.

The staffs are nice, always greet you or hold the door for you. Management are quick on things, very quick on responding issues. If there are any issues with plumbing, window leak, or appliances, they'll come within 10mins to have a look and have it fix while I'm work. I can't ask for better.

Location wise, it's close to Path and Little India is between it. I admit the street is smelly (even in winter, can't imagine when it's summer), but it's convenient if milk and few other things are needed. Plus, I read few people complain about little india, it's gross and it's dirty..... it's 2 blocks away, if it's not for the milk, there's no reason to walk thru that street. Also, it's an active street in the city, it's full of people with restaurants and mini markets in it, wutcha expect? I've seen streets that's dirtier with not a soul walking around.

I've seen better apartments (can't afford) and I've seen shitty apartments (dirty and sketchy) but Canco suits me very well.

From the parking garage fee to the low-class blacks in there. Everything is wrong with that mall.

Remember years back the 1st time I went there, I saw a black kid dropped a snapple bottle from 3rd floor to the 1st. Just imagine someone's mom, daughter, father or son got nailed with it. That was the first impression of that mall and till this day, it's still shit.

Queens Center Mall in Queens is a urban mall but it's so much nicer and safer there. That's because it doesn't have the low-class blacks....

Either you agree or not, it's the truth.

Hey there.

I ended up not buying it. The maintenance fee is too high.

I was looking at the 2br condo and the maintenance fee is $345. $345 for that crap!? It didn't include anything else besides hot water, water and heat. For $345, elevator and parking space should be included.

For that old condo, maintenance fee is usually between $150-$250 the most. Def. not $345.

When summer comes around, units will be paying $345 just for hot water and water??? That's bull. On top of that, give them few more years they'll probably increase the maintenance fee. By that time, units will pay up to $370 just for hot water and water during summer. If you have your AC on during summer, your monthly bill will be an eyesore.

I talked to them about how high the maintenance is, they offered me one year of free maintenance but that's still bull. For the long run, I rather have them reasonably lower the maintenance fee.

The fee doesn't add up to the value of the condo and that's my conclusion of 57 Corbin ave.

don't know anything about Jersey City either... and I'm also looking at buying in a neighborhood that's on the edge. This is how I resolved the dilemna.. if you consider this an investment and think that they neighborhood will get better, then you're probably getting this apartment at a premium. In a few years, you'll be one of the smart ones that talks about how dangerous it used to be and how cheap you got this apartment for. Just be an intelligent person. You could be robbed in Kansas if you act like an idiot. I don't think that there are all out gang street wars in the Heights, Jsq or downtown JC. So, that's my two cents.

I'm looking at your avatar and its saying your from Brooklyn....well, 2 weeks ago, I was condo hunting at Harrison ave, near Lincoln park and this girl also said she's from Brooklyn and planning to move to JC. I'm just wondering if that girl is you?

Hi People,

First time here and have a question to ask. I just made an offer on a condo in Corbin ave and I'm wondering how's the safety around there? I'll be working in NYC and at times I might come back late, around 8-9. Is it safe to walk even tho it's only 6 blocks to the path? Also, is it safe to park my car on Corbin ave? Any feedbacks will be appreciated.

Hope it's not too late to back out the offer ifIi'm getting negative feedbacks.

Thanks guys/gals
