+1 to La Conquita. The food and service is so much better. Skip Hard Grove and leave it for the fools who don't know better.

Because people think a small mom&pop place like Sava is a dump so they go to freaking Panera or Olive Garden instead. I bet sjcarolan uses hand sanitizer every 10 minutes.

It's the same deal with Shadman a few block down. Good, cheap food, but the place looks like a dump as well.

LOL. A high rise literally on top of the train station. You're kidding me about noise right?

You've obviously never lived near a bar/dance club. Evening street/transit noise is nothing compared to crappy house music.

Unless Christie wrote out the application himself, I do not see how he is to blame for the error. I have been asked many times by management to "take another look" at budget numbers and stayed at work late to completely change reports last minute and if I made an error and put in the wrong number, it would have been my fault. I would never be able to say "Well you asked me to make changes at the last minute, so it's YOUR fault" to my director or his VP. Sorry, it doesn't work that way.

Sure, it's not entirely his fault for the error, but he is still accountable for the mistake. Just because you delegate the work doesn't mean you are now no longer responsible for it.

+2 to Croft's advice. Pay your rent as usual and don't talk to their lawyer! Don't listen to the people telling you to withhold your rent. Worst case, it can negatively impact your rental history when your next landlord does a check.

I'd rather play a quick 9 on an Executive course than mindlessly hit balls on a really crappy driving range. Putting and short game, my fellow golfers. We never practice that enough.

You have to admit that those golf balls at the range were worn down to ping pong balls. Every shot was like a knuckle ball!

That's even less likely.

Harleys are not particularly safe or inexpensive motorcycles and the "beanie-style" helmet he was wearing provides no crash protection whatsoever. Hardly the description of a safe, frugal motorcyclist.

Would you think the same thing if you saw a Fast-and-the-Furious modded Honda crashed up on 440 as well?

Got charged $35 + tip for a cab to Newark on a weekend afternoon. There are a few local car services that advertise in the local mail coupon packs that offer $25/$30 rides to Newark.

The same type of experience years back prompted me to change from Citibank to BoA. It's a typical big bank experience. If you want better customer service, the smaller regional banks and credit unions will be a better choice.

Yes, there is onsite parking and it is the only driving range in JC. It's pretty bare bones and the golf balls have seen better days; some are worn smooth and fly out like a whiffle ball. But it's cheap and it's nearby, so if you need to hit some balls, well, it is what it is.

It's heartbreaking to hear some of the victim's stories... especially the elderly, retirees, widowers...

But in the end, it all comes down to bad financial decisions. Like the Enron employees who had all of their retirement invested in company stock fund, the Madoff fraud victims need to take responsibility for their decisions.

wibbit, I'm guessing that you are not married and/or do not have any children. Everything that you have said is right, but when you add the variable of dependents to your equation, your decisions on long term real estate tend to change.
