Re: towing at shoprite?

Towing folks were out in full force today. I've never been towed by these guys but the whole deal is very shady. The tow truck drives down 2nd street the wrong way, illegal. He sppeds through the parking lot to pick up cars. He's pretty fast, he can pull up to a car and have it towed away in about 2 minutes without even getting out of the truck. When they are busy they keep the cars on the east side of BJs. I managed to warn a few people but thought I would come on here and remind everyone. Also got a few shots of his friend who calls in the cars. He didn't like getting his picture taken. Next time I'll get video of the tow driver driving illegaly and the fat bald guy who gives the victims the bad news. Guy who calls them in: Two cars behind the trailer were just towed:

Your whole car, including the very edge of your bumper, has to be behind the diagonal lines. Some people try and paint these themselves but you can tell the difference between these and the official JCPA paintings.

The reason for the lines is to enable the car to pull out at an angle. If you park right up next to the edge, it makes it impossible to pull out.

I've also had cars ticked and/or towed for parking to close because I couldn't get out.

Yes, I've noticed the trucks and idling at this location. They really are in a unique position as the only large office building surrounded by brownstones.

Because of this location they need spend more effort in cutting down on noise and air polution.

Maybe the state would like to start fining idlers at this location:
http://www.state.nj.us/dep/enforcement/otb-idle.htm

Quote:
N.J.A.C. 7:27-14 requires that diesel powered vehicles idle for no more than 3 minutes. Vehicle drivers and property owners will be issued a Field Notice of Violation by DEP inspectors if their vehicle is observed idling for more than 3 minutes.

My trash cans were stolen from my house last week. The perps dumped the trash where the cans were and the cans were gone.

While this certainly is not going to make the front page of the JJ, I just thought i'd let you all know.

Seriously, trash cans, wtf is wrong with people?
