Absolutely...this is Jersey City, they tend to release suspected murderers back on the streets while awaiting trial. JCPD also couldn't give a shit, last thing they need is pushing paperwork for juvenile hood rats.

It's unfortunate how Bergen Square was left in such disarray all these years. To think of the history that started on that area, it should be turned in to a monumental park.

I hope so it's authentic, because my biggest gripe with Hoboken/jerseycity area is the lacking of Authentic Thai Food.

The University offers Shuttle service to, and from the JSQ Path station. Although, you'll soon find walking from Path to St. Peters doesn't take as long as you think. If the grittiness of JFK Blvd., and Bergen is the issue, then you can take Van Reypen St. which is more of a quiet walk.

It's unfortunate Jersey City still doesn't have a reliable, more frequent form of transportation through Montgomery St.

That corner of Duncan is the most desirable area of McGinley Square, especially if you're looking to commute. The section is really quiet, with mostly seniors, new families, and commuters. The walk to JSQ is about 15min brisk walk, either through JFK-VanReipen, or Bergen. Mornings are lively because of the commuters, and students, you shouldn't have a problem running to the park using JFK. Also, if you're use to being in an urban environment, then running down Duncan to the Park is also fine.
That area is a gem, seems the locals want to keep it a secret.
