He owns "The green along the rail road" - he'll deed it to the City of Jersey City for parkland.

Neverleft - I never said that the City wasn't aware that LibertyHealth was interested in purchasing the building - of course this was discussed with them. And, yes, LibertyHealth is a nonprofit entity. Actually, the LibertyHealth Foundation provided the funds for the purchase. I don't understand why you feel that this ownership situation is bad. I think it's wonderful. The Medical Center was in need of an audutorium for its community education programs and space to house financial services personnel who were in rented space in Secaucus. The Museum needed to be relieved of financial responsibility for the ownership & maintenance of the building. This acquisition by the Jersey City Medical Center allows for the ongoing storage of the entire museum collection and periodic display & Museum programs while the Museum Board works on raising needed funds to continue its mission and perhaps move to a new and more prime location.

The City of Jersey City and Mayor Healy had absolutely nothing to do with the acquisition of the JC Museum building. This was a negotiation between LibertyHealth and the bank that held the mortgage and the Board of the Museum.

The 30-story Grove Pointe tower has 458 rental units.
The lower portion has 50 condo units.
There are 2 addresses and a separate lobby for each.

The food is great.
Here's an excerpt from their press release:

Craig Shelton the former chef and owner of Ryland Inn, has mentored the culinary team that features Chef de Cuisine Leonardo Marino, previously from Le Bernardin, Bouley Bakery and Jean Georges in N.Y. The critically-acclaimed chefs will prepare perfectly prepared pancakes in the morning transitioning to slow-braised short-ribs in agrodolce sauce in the evening.

You don't measure height by the # of stories - these towers are nearly the height of the Goldman Sachs tower at 30 Hudson Street.

Yes, it will happen.

It will be a 2nd office tower for Goldman Sachs - the foundation is there.

The plan has always been to build it when Goldman Sachs is hiring employees in the New York region. Unfortunately, the last 4 or 5 years this hasn't happened - total employment is down. There are 5,395 full-time employees at 30 Hudson.

Soon would be great, but construction of 50 Hudson depends on the economy and growth at the firm.

Goldman Sachs: the second office tower - 50 Hudson Street - 30-story, 918,956 square feet.

The 42-story 30 Hudson Street is the tallest building in New Jersey at 781 feet.

Re: Jersey City Medical Center CEO says Christ Hospital takeover 'a recipe for disaster,' offers to buy

Community Healthcare Associates LLC and LibertyHealth System, parent company of Jersey City Medical Center, is one of the partnerships awaiting Thursday's deadline for potential purchasers of the Jersey City hospital, which is in bankruptcy.

Jeffrey Moll, co-founder and managing partner of CHA, said projects like developing Christ Hospital into an efficient, fiscally stable hospital is "what we do," citing the organization's revamping of the former Barnert Hospital, in Paterson, into a medical mall, and the current development of shuttered Kessler Memorial Hospital, in Hammonton, into an ambulatory surgical and acute care center.

"We will purchase the property, including the building in which the hospital is, and we will be the landlord and Jersey City Medical Center will be the tenant," Moll said, describing the planned bid. "In the space of the hospital, they will run a full-service acute-care hospital ? obviously very similar to Christ Hospital and what they're doing ? and they will bring their talents and expertise developed as a nonprofit."

Moll said Jersey City will get roughly six months after moving into Christ Hospital to determine the amount of space in the main building required to operate the hospital, and CHA will then fill the rest of the building and several outbuildings with complementary health care services, such as a nursing home.

Jersey City Medical Center will "figure out what makes the most sense," Moll said. "There's a lot of property ? it's a 15-acre site ? there are a lot of outbuildings on the site, and that's where I think CHA will primarily focus."

Moll said he believes the ownership transition for Christ Hospital would be smoothest to the CHA/LibertyHealth partnership because they plan to keep the hospital nonprofit. Other potential bidders Hudson Holdco LLC and MHA would likely operate the facility as a for-profit hospital.

You're wrong.

The Beacon is a terrific place to live.

I've enjoyed my condo at The Shore at Newport, especially the floor to ceiling glass wrapping 2 sides of my unit (and I never had a utility bill over $51 / month, often less).

But it's time to try something new - I've been at Newport for 5 years.

I don't understand these negative comments about The Beacon.

I'm about to move out of my beautiful corner condo at The Shore at Newport into a condo at The Beacon - hopefully by next month. I'm leaving my sweeping views of Manhattan and will now have Southeast views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. And my new unit has 12 foot ceilings - great for displaying my art collection.

I'll have an indoor pool, 2 theaters, a poker room, billiard room, valet parking and a large van to take me to Exchange Place if I don't want to drive.

The Mercury will have 126 rental units - should be renting by the end of this year. Work on the multilevel garage has started so surface parking should be a thing of the past by the end of next year.

I have 3 friends who have owned condos At the Beacon for several years - everyone of them loves the community.

I'm expecting to be very happy there.

There will ba a theater in the Toll Brothers City Living project as required in the Site Plan approval.

After 9/11, the Goldman Sachs plans changed for security reasons. The tower at 50 Hudson will be 500 feet tall instead of just 15 stories and the glass enclosed space was removed. There were valid reasons to alter the approvals and it was done properly.
