Re: City Needs to Enforce Developer's Agreements

I walked by Mountain Road today, and there was some construction activity at the bottom of the road by the Cliff Lofts.... could it be related to the 100 Steps project? I haven't seen any announcements anywhere, and I'm sure Healey would've made it known, if the project was starting. Anyone know what's going on there?

Ive still never been to JC Crossfit. But as a slouch, who has gone to the Hoboken "box" for 2 months, I have to say, it's been worth every extra dime. It's an awesome work out with, shitty amenities.

Just curious, in what ways is it better?

I've never been Crossfit JC, but I do think Crossfit Hoboken is excellent, other than the locker room space.

Contruction has been there going on there long before Sandy. I was actually wondering if they were able to evacuate all the equipment, before the storm.

It's definetly the expansion of the Hudson River Walkway, maybe a new park as well. I'm not positive about the latter.

The happy ending is that the car was found a few blocks away.

Cue the old timers to give us the "real" definition of Downtown in 3, 2, 1...

LOL...

The boundaries of the 07302 zip code effectively defines "downtown".

This is the first time I've heard anyone define an area a town/city strictly by zip code, which I find to be a bit ridiculous. Even our neighbors in Hoboken have an uptown and downtown, and it's all the same zip code.

From what I heard they're taking over the current Dunkin Donuts Space. Maybe that will be for the pizza? I heard it's going to be cheap slices, so I don't have high expectations for the quality.

They're also using the basement space in the building. I'm not sure where the entrance will be, but I'm guessing that's the speakeasy.

They're going to have outdoor seating, so that'll be nice when weather warms up.

Trump Plaza is nearly sold out - 4 of the 443 units are available to buy now and the last 14 will be available in February. I've spoken to residents there and they love it. The amenities floor is great, the pool is beautiful. The original plans had the washer/dryer installed in the kitchen but many of the units were modified with the washer/dryers installed in closets. And, again, as I said earlier this week, the Buon Italia lease is still in place and construction should begin soon. The space is NOT available for lease.

Why has it taken over 2 years for construction to start "soon"? Have they been paying rent all of this time?

"McDonald's introduced a coffee line called "McCaf?" nationwide in the United States.Unlike in other countries, "McCaf?" is just a line of special drinks, not a full coffee shop.": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCaf%C3%A9

They're probably just adding it to the McDonalds space that is already there.

FYI- I walked past The Roman Nose yesterday. They had a sign outside, that read that they would be open today.

I heard the place next to Dunkin is going to be a wine bar. In addition to the space that you can see upstairs, they're going to use the cellar space as well.

Re: wedding DJ

I'm also in the DJ Hoffman camp. He DJ'd my wedding a year ago and he was great. When we were looking for a DJ we did a pretty thorough search, and wherever we looked the reviews were all postive.

I know it looks fishy that this is my first post, but I'm new to JC and JCList, I'm sure this won't be my last post.
