Re: Barack Obama for President

Give me some money and I will gladly move. You sound like one of those morons who has never been outside the US but stand on the Street telling everyone that the US is the best darn country in the world. Bullshit!

There are positives and negatives in any country. The US might be the strongest country militarily, but at what cost? Just look at the billions of dollars squandered in Iraq and Afghanistan

Of course, you can compare Denmark and Sweden to the US or Canada or any other country. Simply put, Denmark and Sweden, are safer, cleaner, and the people are HEALTHIER

The living standards are considerably in Denmark and Sweden. Even the lower economic classes live just as well as many working class americans. I'd take their system over ours anyday. Send me some money and maybe I can apply for residency there

Yesh, Joe Biden makes mistakes, flourishes but Biden is 10X better than McCain or Palin. Mccain and Palin both just flat out lie.

The economy is not weak? Don't you think it will start to recover by June/July or at the end of 2009 which is when potential tax increases on those who can best afford them will kick in?

The US economy was weak when Bill came in, perhaps it was starting to improve. The economy will be weak, poised to strengthen when Barry hopefully takes over

Bill Clinton raised taxes and the fact of the matter is that the US was better for it. It helped reduce the deficit and fund needed programs.

In 2001, didn't McCain denounce Bush's tax cuts. What's different now. Mr. McCain should be applauding Mr. Obama. Mr. McCain shows time and time again that he is too erratic to be president.

maybe now is not the time to be promoting JC as Wall Street West...but try to promote as an evolving little city that is recapturing its glory days with new restos, bars, buildings or something like that.

I suspect that anyone who thought the debate was a tie is probably the same kind of person who would simply doesn't want is a mccain supporter at heart.

McCain was gimmicky, creepy and at times repititiious.

It just amazes me that the JCPD will not enforce city regulations? Why even have them, if they are not being enforced? How many more people need to be assaulted before something is done.

yes, but why wouldn't they just continue down barrow or jersey avenue until they hit newark unless that block of Columbus Avenue is going to be redone so that it gives people a reason to walk though Passeo. I think if really wanted a Vibrant Paseo then that narrow Barrow Street between Newark and Columbus could be used and traffic diverted.

Also, downtown still needs a movie house.

I think a Paseo would be nice, but I doubt that Jersey City has the scale to make it work. The passage way is very narrow and I doubt that there are that many people wanting to get to unsightly Columbus Avenue.

You know what if the economy was doing great, the Republicans would be taking credit. When the economy was weak under Jimmy Carter, who took the blame?

It's time for a new party, new direction

Is this Fear factor IX or what? This country has too many problems to allow a moron like MCain handle them. The world is changing quickly, paradigms are changing and Mccain is stuck in another era.

Interesting, he lashes out at the bailouts for Bear, AIG, but is more than willing to help bailout out the automakers should the need arise. The manufacturing and finance sectors are both important to the economy.

That aside, I was LOL when colleagues were so sad that Lehman went under. and that it should have gotten a bailout too [talk about self interest] I was too, but those same people had been saying oh yeah, AIG shoudl go under and that the carmakers shouldn't get bailouts.

Re: Barack Obama for President

I have been saying this for a long time.

Obama supporters say get tougher, more passionate
ELKO, Nevada - Worried Democrats want Barack Obama to get tougher, show more passion. Why is he so calm, supporters ask, so close to an election that looks so tight. "Just keep steady," Obama tells the nervous Nellies. "I'm skinny but I'm tough. I'm from Chicago,"

Obama hears the concern, from senior Democrats and big-money contributors, from columnists and supporters along the rope lines at campaign events. He heard it again as he stood in an hour-long receiving line in Hollywood to pose for pictures with donors who paid $28,500 to be with him Tuesday night.

"I know that a lot of you, just in conversations while we were in the photo lines, had all sorts of suggestions," Obama said. "And a lot of people have gotten nervous and concerned. `Why is this as close as it is? And what's going on?'"

I hope this changes but it looks like McCain/Palin is gaining/leadingin the electoral college too. Obama and Biden are too complacent.

Re: Barack Obama for President

OMG, was that a Freudian slip or what? I meant to say dump Biden..but the more I think about this I say F-it.

If Obama is not willing to make the changes to his campaign that are necessary, you have to worry about what type of President he would be. If he only heeds advice from his inner circle, then something is wrong because given the state of the economy he should not be behind in the polls and it is not just a race issue. I have even heard blacks as well as college students question the wisdom of Biden.

People voted for Obama because they want change, and Obama gives up f_cking Biden. I still don't know anything about Biden other than that he said Obama wasn't bqualified and that Hillary would have been a better VP candidate. If the MF thinks that, he should drop out. Hillary Clinton would have been a better VP candidate and campaigner. I know that Hillary has been to Ohio and is going to Kentucky on Obama's behalf. I don't even know that Biden is campaigning.

It's really sad because now many states that were solidly leaning toward Obama are moving toward McCain. And even if Obama ekes out a win, what does that do for the Democrats in Congress where Republicans might even gain now and be in a position to thwart changes that Obama might want to make.

It is funny how McCain is now the change candidate. The Republicans just walked through the front door and took that away.
