oh come on dude, you just called loud motorcycles "a very real problem"

i'm busting chops because i'd imagine someone who knows a "Ducati expert" so well would know how to spell "Ducati"

and whether i was born here or just moved here a year ago its still just as much "my city"

lets not take ourselves too seriously here..

yeah and judging by the spelling and grammar in that post it looks like high school never began either.

i'm not sure i understand how one motorcycle is completely different from every other "city noise". if anoise wakes you up, it wakes you up. are you happier about getting woken up by a municipal service? does it make you any less tired during the day?

just playing devil's advocate here..

PH is actually very quiet if you dont count Grand St (which isnt too bad at all) and exchange place during the day. Parking is definitely not bad either, in 6 years I've never had to park more than 2 blocks from my house. for a ground level 1 BR with a yard, expect to pay 1400 on the very low end. theres one for rent on Grand st right now for 1350 that a cat hoarder used to live in with a shitty backyard.

also the nickname horseshoe ias actually a bastardization of "whore's shoe" - so named because the park was originally shaped like a clear acrylic platform heel.

hope this helps.

i am a 5 min walk to grove st and it takes me 45-50 min to get to my office on 57th and 11th via the path/subway (B-D line).

its not a terrible commute but its not great either.

she's a stupid ass and deserves no leniency from punishment because of her son. she put him in the situation.

there are descriptions and language used in that article, specifically about euthanasia procedure, that are a very obvious give away that the author knows little to nothing about what they speak. its unfortunate that its does little more than drag people's names through the mud in a very undeserving/unwarranted/false fashion and straight out spread lies.

i happen to know personally because i LIVED with one of the people mentioned for a year during the time period in question as well as spent several hours a week at the shelter. the idea of this propaganda is flat out pathetic.

and lol @ the mention of "phdog" and whether or not she is "on LHS's side". what other side is there??

can you elaborate on that list? a bear only kills a person every 2 years in the US? only 53 ppl a year die from bee/wasp stings?

any encounter with a bear is a dangerous one. they are wild animals.

while we are lucky to not have had any fatal bear attacks on people here in nj, pets have been killed and potentially hazardous situations have been on the rise. the population has grown from about 2400 in 2005 to about 3400 presently.

and to answer the question of why a dog needs to be licensed: "because its state law"

thats the best answer you're gonna get. more dogs die from the rabies vaccination than actual rabies itself in urban settings like JC. The idea that it links dogs to owners in bite cases and the like is a weak argument. there have been very few cases in JC over the past couple years where this would have made an impact. certainly not worth the effort that seems to be exerted right now.

yeah its SO VERY important for your dog to be vaccinnated for rabies.

i was issued several warnings and eventually a summons last week for a dog i have not had in a year. i thought that somehow, AC came to my house and was able to see this non existant dog in my basement apartment with drawn blinds. apparently they saw the dog that lives upstairs but the thought that since the building is a 4 unit home, the dog might not belong to me never occurred to them and i was issued a summons.

they have since offered to squash the ticket upon providing proof that the dog in question no longer belongs to me.

and just to give a heads up to anybody involved in animal rescue/welfare, i was also told that any foster dog has to be licensed as well, regardless of who owns it, because YOU will be issued a summons.

i've only had the fire dept come once or twice in the past 5 years for a particularly smokey fire. just use common sense and maybe invest in a fire extinguisher just in case.
