Transportation on the rails should ease with new cars.

I agree with Yvonne, this hoodlum reminds me of an overgrown gang member. Why would the city invite him ? Couldn't they find someone who would be more appealing to the masses and families ?

People who use cloth bags should wash them often. Milk, meat and fish should not be in the same bag as fresh produce. JC is on the receiving list of monies from different agencies because some people here have TB, HIV, and STD and their immune system is compromise. A simple food virus can do them in. This is also a problem for cancer patients.

I don't think the ban will affect farmers markets, fruit and vegetable stores, or the produce isles.

I see there was a fire up Newark Ave (629 - 631 Newark Avenue -- a pair of attached three-story buildings that house a meat market and a Domino's pizza) -- But the fire trucks are also on Newark between 3rd & 4th Street - what is going on there? That is many blocks away from the other area.

I don't think there is a fire down there it is probably because there is a firehouse on Brunswick St. and Newark Ave. which is right near there and easy to reach the Newark Ave. fire.

Easy peasy. Let JC tax its residents to support such computer literacy programs as Princeton and Millburn do. Not only do Princeton and Millburn pay almost 90% of their own school costs, they do so at a far cheaper cost per student than JC, Asbury Park, East Orange/Orange, Camden, and similar schools. Just having JC taxpayers paying their fair share would free up a couple HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS a year to pay for such programs. Why do JC taxpayers refuse to support their own children, that's the question you should answer.

Most of the tax payers do not have children in the schools it is the residents paying rent that do.

Not J.C. but could Nyc new plan to segregate all public scools come to this side of the river ? McNair-Academic could be affected if this shows good fortune to our neighbors to the east.

LOL paying $40k on a rate of 1.62% means a valuation of $2.5mm. Take that $2.5mm property and pay the average state tax rate (I forget the exact, but spot it at 2.23% to be generous) and you'd pay $55061. So, yes, that person is getting a STEAL of a deal.

LMAO, Yvonne, you are a funny one. I'll give it to you though; at least you're consistently hilarious.

I agree with Yvonne, it's not about the rate it's the absurd assessment that hurts, although we here in the Heights section have been over charged for years now.

Better there than in the street where traffic flows at an safe speed and too close for comfort.

Vacant lots have more value then ones with houses on them. You don't have to buy a house to only knock it down in order to build a new house so it is more appealing that way.

as for taxes, we have not gotten the letter stating new taxes for 2018 after the reval. so i have no information to post.

condo is on pavonia ave, 1 block from hamilton park.

Based on the new tax rate and the selling price the taxes should be around $11k.

You can be assured one of them will be Yvonne, who will mug for the TV cameras and repeat her lies over and over.

Nick I see so much negativity towards Yvonne, are you a home owner and do you consider yourself affected by this reval ? Also are you pleased with the abatements and city services ? Just want to know why you do not think Yvonne's reasoning is valid.

FWIW I looked into 10 Provost Square (new building near Grove St PATH) a few weeks ago and they have no tax abatement...so maybe the tide is starting to turn.

Condos with tax abatement still pays fair taxes..

All the rental buildings are still getting 30 year tax abatements. T

Look up the tax records for owners of abated properties, it's not hard if you know the address. Check out what they pay it's a fraction of what a normal taxed property is around here.
