Schroeder Lofts is on 10th street which really is only about a 10 minute walk to the Newport Path station. I walk to that area every day - you can cut through Newport mall to get to the Path.

There is a 2-alarm fire burning right now at Newark Ave. & Bay St. I can smell the smoke all the way up here by 9th street.

Actually, you do not need phone service to use Verizon DSL. I subscribed for a short time without having phone service. Also, Comcast charges $58/month if you do NOT have cable TV service. If you do then it's about $42/month.

There has also been a JC cruiser stationed at the on-ramp to 1/9/NJTP for quite some time now. This is also a construction site.

Speaking of crime, I read on the Newport message board that there was a rape earlier this week inside the Lincoln apartment building on 10th Street. Apparently the victim was living on the first floor and the suspect came in through a window.
