Re: Two JC cops arrested over Memorial Day weekend

First of all, Brian McGovern is a Blackbelt so I doubt he started whatever happened. Im sure he was defending his self down Point Pleasant Beach.
Now Officer Kevin Cieslak, a two-year member of the department, How do you explain driving 89-miles-per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone after allegedly being involved in a collision with a bread truck and he left the scene of the accident. But how do you do 89 MPH after colliding with a bread truck anyway rookie???

As someone else stated before, most people living in front of the turnpike would not consider the cesspool near Holland Tunnel "downtown". The people involved in the shooting on Exchange, are not from downtown either. But please remind me, what did Healy say?

Why do drivers think it's okay to stop in the middle of the crosswalk like that roll through guy?

It would be awesome if you could leave that camera there, and shame people.

The driver of the silver Volvo actually lives on Pavonia Ave. closer to Monmouth on the North side of the street. I saw him one rainy night driving so fast around a corner that he fish-tailed and almost lost control of the car. I may have to have a "talk" with him. He usually parks his car on Pavonia.

My husband and I tried two tortas last night from this cart in front of the Grove St Path - they were great!!!

They were super friendly and really trying to drum up future business - had two tortas and another selection (sorry I was hungry and tired) available at about 9pm - he said he is going to be there weeknights - maybe Sat until 130am. This is NOT to be confused with whatever truck that is being mentioned!

Hey asshole, do you think things in Greenville would be any better if Manzo, Levin or one of the others got elected?

1. You lost all credibility with your opening 2 words.

2. Neither Manzo nor Levin would be able to turn Greenville around.

That said, I doubt either of them, or the police chief they would choose, would have the gall to tell us that crime is down and it's just our perception. And please, don't try to pigeon hole all the crime in Greenville while we have fresh threads about gunfire in Exchange Place, bullet holes in windows near the tunnel and uzi-equipped robberies on Newark Ave.

Stop yourself now.

Also the Holland Gardens is "technically" downtown, on 16th Street, but who the hell really considers that to be Downtown? I'd bet that 50-75% of "Downtown Crime" occurs in or near these 2 projects that are "technically" downtown...but nobody really considers them to be Downtown.

Hence: Not sure OP understands the definition of price gouging.

Sounds like pricing out, keeps the rif raf out.

I've said it here before, but doing some sneaky enforcement of stop signs around here would be a goldmine for the police and the city. The profits could be used to hire more police, amongst other useful things.

Does the city not want the money?? Is there some sort of disincentive for the police to enforce stop signs?? It blows my mind...

I called Bentley today and they wanted $185,000 for their entry level model...in this market? I hung up and called a chevy dealer and got a great deal on a lumina for under $16,000 !

I havent been in the green building at newport towers but downtown luxury 2 brs by the waterfront do go for the high 2000 range low 3000 in this market. If you want a crappy 2 br with no upgrades, gym etc in a lesser location i'm sure you can find something that suits you.

What a beautiful program and what a line-up of awardees. It really makes me feel proud to be a resident of Jersey City and to see all the wonderful work that is being done by my fellow citizens. Everybody loves to gripe on this list, but this is one event where we can come together, celebrate and feel good about the place we call home.

you seem to have the comprehension of a newborn puppy. We are not discussing whether $3000 for rent is expensive or not. You are complaining about price gouging and expressed outrage on the unfair price specifically for newport, when infact that is the market rate.

2br $3000 rent is outrageous for example in arkansas but very reasonable in manhattan, and in this case newport.

sigh.....

I don't get what the point of the map is? Yes the Heights had a few more murders then Downtown in 2008. The year before that Downtown had two more then the Heights. I don't get your point that doesn't change my stats in any way. The fact remains other then burglaries there is more crime Downtown then the Heights. Which you didn't believe to be true.

As far as the border I believe we had that discussion already in the past so if it helps you sleep better at night, then believe what you want. At the end of the day the city is still going to have its original borders.

Was this the only thing you were able to dig up on any town around Manville? You better keep digging. See if you can find anything on New Providence while you're at it. In the meantime, I hope you'll be at the next meet and greet, if there is ever one again. So we can compare and contrast our gene pools and all!

Join the Friends of Van Vorst Park?s community flea market being held on June 20th. You will benefit from the foot-traffic of the VVP farmer?s market and by having other vendors like you, creating interest in what you are selling.

See the jclist ?event calendar? for June 20th for more information.

I am sure you may not be aware of this, but Hudson County has 2 Walmarts and even a Kmart which you are probably too stuck up to shop at anywhere. Wow. I guess you didn't hear about the 2 men who strangled and bashed some woman in her own drive way in Bridgewater - and guess what? None of them came from Newark or even non-downtown Jersey City! Too bad someone didn't test your parents before they were allowed to reproduce.
