I hear a high pitched noise now. It is definitely coming from someone's backyard between 4th and 5th, Jersey and Erie. Sound like an ultrasonic pest deterrent gone crazy.

No, I know the sound that b_happy's talking about. It's a very high frequency. It's so high that not everyone can hear it, but it hurts my ears. I have heard it off and on for over a year now. I don't hear it inside my house, though. I was assuming some sort of pest deterrent or alarm, as well and thought it might have been coming from the condemned section of the church on 4th and Jersey.

If you're going to attempt street parking, during a weekday (non-holiday) and you're in a 'zoned' area, don't forget to get a parking permit!

Wow, just had a Kobe burger at Fire & Oak last night. It was amazing. IMO it blew away the Embankment's burger. Granted, it was a splurge ($17.95, includes fries), but worth it. I also upgraded the fries to their truffle cheese fries.

They also have a regular "Fire & Oak" burger on the menu that is a little less pricey, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll have to do a taste test.

Great service, good wine. We'll be going back. Also, they have a Monday special of $1 oysters. They were very good too.

(We also had a short rib sandwich, which we weren't impressed with. It was too sweet for our tastes. I wouldn't order that again)

No offense, but you guys are easily spooked. 2nd Street behind ShopRite? It's mostly just loading docks. Then it's the waterfront. What time are you running? 3 AM? Because between 1 am and 6 am is probably the only time I can imagine anybody being nervous there.

...

In my original message, I stated that I am a female and I run in the morning and that I found those streets 'creepy' before 7AM. And that after "7AM-ish", I felt more comfortable.

On 2nd street, there's an empty building with a 3x3 hole in the first floor that I've seen people crawl out of. I've seen people sleeping on the loading platforms of the storage place.

I hope I've justified myself to you.

I have been running the waterfront for 8+ years (i'm female). I only run in the mornings. It can get creepy on the streets to/from the waterfront. If I'm running before 7AM, I don't like to use the iPod and I sometimes carry pepper spray, but after 7AM-ish, there's enough activity to make me feel safer. But I haven't had any real incidents. And radryan03 makes a good point: don't run the same pattern.

The sunrise over the city is beautiful.

I try to save the treadmill for bad weather days.

Where are the creepy streets to/from the waterfront?

Man, some of you people are pretty faint of heart if you think the Downtown streets are creepy.

Yes, maybe we're not all tough as you.

I was thinking of 2nd Street, behind the ShopRite

Hah, I've been riding the PATH daily for over 11 years and I swear the farting has become epidemic. I mostly notice it on the rides home and I figured that those people had been saving up all day just to release on the PATH. I wish I could have witnessed the ranter.

They removed the municipal trash cans from at least four locations on one day:
Jersey and 3rd
Jersey and 4th
Jersey and 5th (there were two cans cross-corner)
Jersey and 6th

I did email Fulop, like suggested above, but i think he's been pretty busy these last few days
