I always drop them off in laundry mats.
People spend a lot of time waiting for their clothes to finish up. Little kids like to look at them too if there are pictures.

See if you can get your library to get this book for you:
https://www.amazon.com/Berenice-Abbott ... erenice+changing+new+york It may be available for viewing online in some capacity as well. Take a look at some of the neighborhoods that existed before Manhattan became the metropolis that it is now. Jersey City is well into that transformation now. Consider why the people flooding into JC can't live in NYC--it's beyond their means. It's a matter of time before the same situation occurs in your city. Is your quality of live improving daily because of the new restaurants ?--really? Greed has no limits and as will be seen recognizes no boundaries.

In time banks will prevail, eminent domain and tax sales will result in the demolition of entire neighborhoods, and the unique character of what Jersey City once was will be replaced. High rises, cold and without character will be inhabited by a new generation who have no concept of neighborhoods, nor want them. Much of Manhattan looked like JC once, and look at it now. It'll happen in JC too in time.

There appears to be a pretty cavalier attitude about the people who've lived in their homes for many decades who are now in a terrible state because of the huge tax burden which some are now facing. Try to understand what it would mean to people who are in their seventies and eighties being told: " aww, just move out or take a reverse mortgage".
It's a very emotional and terrifying prospect to have to change your whole life abruptly. Try to exhibit a little empathy. It may happen to you, your parents or a relative. Some of you don't realize what's coming down the line in Jersey City; no mercy will be shown to anyone. It will get uglier.

What would bring more grace to the streets of JC than the sight of beautiful horses?
Think of the joy it would bring to children when they see them. It's a step back in the right direction.

Many years ago I heard of the 'wheel of merchandising": new businesses come on at the bottom and as the old ones get over the top they fall off.
Wouldn't it be grand if those store locations were connected in a park area? We need another Roosevelt Stadium type park in the area rather than enterprises that congest and pollute.

Very nicely said and probably expressive of what most readers and posters feel when visiting this site. You can express your concerns to the webmaster (as I have done in the past) and he will step up and speak to it, but the fault lies with the very few antagonistic know it alls who express themselves in sometimes small, mean posts. They know who they are and so do the people who just want to engage in insightful discussion with others. I would hazard a guess that outside the forum they're not nice people to begin with. Does anyone remember that old saying: if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything? Silence in response to a bigot or name caller is the most effective of tools to stop them in their tracks. I do hope that the forum continues and grows, but without the hateful spew from the few.

Even with the vitriol, sniping and backbiting which appears from certain posters I still find postings of interest and displays of knowledge about goings on. However, I must confess that I just can't figure out how people have the time to contribute their voices thousands and thousands of times. There's a poster here with over nine thousand contributions. Do the math--it's incredible.

Gonna get spent anyway one way or another.
Watch the cost overruns on the justice complex as they pile up for instance. Go for the horses I say. What the hay? HaHa.

Hey, you're gonna get beat up anyway--you're in Jersey City.
May as well add a little grace and finesse to the streets. Not much more beautiful than a horse. The kids will love seeing them.

I think that the more JC becomes an extension of NYC, it's inevitable that foot patrols will be back just like in NYC.
I remember the old horse patrols as a kid--pretty cool. We used to go down to the stable over on Johnson Avenue near the SPCA and pet the horses when they were out of their stalls.

We had a wonderful meal last night at the restaurant--our favorite home style Italian place to eat.
Sadly, the place was practically empty. I hope that this was due to the horrific traffic on Grand Street due to construction or street work I guess. Hopefully, that's all it was because the restaurant is an old style gem.

In essence, abuse of the beachgoers and vacationers by uncaring workers circumventing safety concerns
while moving equipment for beach replenishment a few blocks down. The police were called down, but didn't intervene. Until we called OSHA and the corporate people of the contracters we were daily at the mercy of what you see in the video and worse. Initially all of this movement took place at night, but then the workers decided to short cut the process--public be damned. Corporate people were there in record time with the threat of the newspapers and OSHA facing them and things turned around quickly.

I'm down in the Seaside Park area and equipment is accumulating for replenishment in areas that weren't supposed to be done until after the summer ended. They're in Seaside Heights right now.
If you have a rental scheduled for the coming weeks, better check into it.

Really pretty sad. While Trump is sitting down with Kim, did he need that kind of outburst? Jeez.
