Re: 16 new police officers on Jersey City's streets
Home away from home
Home away from home

Sixteen - we need a lot more than 16, how about another 200. Let's have a war against crime in Jersey City and show the criminal element we are serious.
Almost every day there are articles of someone being shot or violent crimes being committed.
When does this become unacceptable?
Some of the 16 will be just replacing those who will be retiring.
Jersey City can be a great city if we can handle the crime issue. Our police work hard. I few family members were police officers and are now retired. Many of the officers I currently know, along with my family members have mentioned in conversations we do need many more Police Officers in Jersey City. we have no Police walking the beats or in neighborhoods. What happened to community policing we were promised?
Yes I understand it cost a a great deal of money, however it is up to our elected officials to provide and be accountable for the safety the people of Jersey City.
When you see the things our City Council votes and spends/wastes money on the only thing I can think of is their incompetence when it comes to their decisions, meanwhile something the City Council and the Mayor should seriously address is the crime issue.

This statement sums up the Healy Administration - dumb, negligent, and crooks, lets not forget corrupt and incompetent too.

Quote:

?This decision is nothing that Nidia Lopez should be proud of,? Jeffrey said. ?It?s not a victory to have a judge say that you might be dumb, negligent, or a crook ? but you live in New Jersey.?

Re: Jersey City Government Corruption Scandal - 16 arrested

Home away from home

Healy, maintains he has done nothing wrong, as he is referred to in several places in the 21-page indictment.

Healy is right about the done nothing part, he has done nothing for Jersey City, he has done nothing for the good of the Jersey City Residents, he has done nothing regarding the Crime Problem, he has done nothing regarding the Tax Issue's, ect.

So I agree with Mayor Healy when he says he has done nothing, he is a do nothing Mayor.

Beldini allegedly told Dwek that Healy knew that the ticket purchases were funded by him and agreed with Dwek that Healy ?appreciates the way [the CW] does business.?

At a March 13 meeting, Healy pointed out that Beldini, in addition to being one of his deputy mayors, owns a real estate company, and agreed with Dwek that it was a ?big benefit.?

At a later meeting, Dwek asked Healy to make sure his development applications were not put ?at the bottom of the pile.? From the Beldini indictment: ?JC Official 1 laughed and said, ?Bottom of the pile or top of the pile?? Cheatam made clear that the CW ?wants to be on the top,? and defendant BELDINI said, ?Well, we can flip the pile.?

IMO, those quotes should pretty much wrap it up as far as Healy goes.

Since they cannot be trusted, perhaps a recall is in order. Some how, some way, we need to kick out these inept members.
Hopefully Christie will launch an investigation into Team Healy. We all need to write letters, makes calls, whatever it might take for Christie's involvement towards steps to help clean up the mess we have in City Hall.

Let's remember they were voted in, so I hope those that voted for Team Healy are all very proud of yourselves.

Well I guess your OK with people being stabbed. It this type of criminal element that is comfortable in Jersey City. Because of Healy lack of crime policy we will continue to have violence and criminal activity in Jersey City.

If Healy and his team did a good job, I would not have to mention him. He is paid by the citizens of Jersey City, made promise in his campaigns, and has not come close to keeping, especially on the crime issue.

Do a good job and I would reward him with good words, just as I do for those who work for me at my Advertising Agency. When they don't do a good job, I put them on notice and fire them when necessary. It is called accountability, those that hold themselves accountable and perform well, deserve the accolades. Those that don't perform well, needed to be called out on it.

Unfortunately, Healy can't be fired, his performance as Mayor and lack of accountability would warrant be fired if he was working in company or corporation.

This is piece of shit element we have in Jersey City, between this piece of shit, drug dealers, gangs, violent criminals, thanks to Healy and his team's lack of policy on crime and not taking a ZERO TOLERANCE against crime the criminals are very comfortable in Jersey City.

When are we going to see Team Healy's campaign promise of community policing, police on walking the street and Jersey City having safer streets.

Will the FBI come and get this guy already.

Jimmy King, who finished second to Lopez and initiated the lawsuit against her, pleaded guilty last month to conspiracy to commit extortion for accepting $10,000 from a developer secretly working for the FBI.

So why did she run on the Team (Corruption) Healy ticket, she had to know it was something that was not good. Who does she think she is bull shitting, she just like all of Team Healy benefited from the campaign war chest that had the bribe money it. She was part of their campaign slogan. He says that the council can either continue to function with At-Large councilman Peter Brennan running the show as Council President Pro Tem, or the council could elect a new president altogether.

As for Kenny?s seat, the council can vote to appoint someone to fill it within the next 30 days; that person would serve an interim term until the November 2010 elections. If the council can?t come to an agreement on who should be appointed, the body could in theory continue to operate as an eight-person council until next fall as well."

By Jon Whiten ? Oct 6th, 2009 ? Category: Lead Story, News, Politics

Breaking news out of City Hall.

?Mariano Vega has resigned from his position as Council President today effective Friday,? Mayor Jerramiah Healy says in a statement. ?We believe this decision is the right one for our city and our people, and we will work with the governing body to focus on the business of moving this city forward with honest, open and effective government.?

Healy adds that as a result of his guilty plea today, Ward B councilman Phil Kenny has also forfeited his seat.

?I am just as stunned as everyone by this news,? Healy says. ?I had always known Phil Kenny to be an honest person who was dedicated to his city and his community.?
