I agree with you 100% about religion, those are also my views. but..... in prison a violent form of islam is being taught. Period. I also think it's shameful that people call you names for stateing your opinion.

Beg to differ. Somethings are not a written fact. I come from a family background that practices islam and i can tell you that a very violent form of this religion IS being taught in prisons not only across america but across the world. It just is, whether you find articles on it or not it has many islam leaders very worried. Might i also add that one of the solid purposes of prison in the US is rehabiltation. Beacuse of this, violent religion passes through the system, and upon release is a time bomb ready to go off.

Oh Healy this is shameful

"Beldini, 74, is charged with conspiracy to commit extortion by taking $20,000 in illegal campaign contributions. Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy said Thursday the charges were "a little shocking."

"I have full faith in Leona," Healy said. "She's a good friend of mine ? was and will be."

There is not one possible excuse for what this woman did. A person is not lead into a life of crime they choose a life of crime. She knew the road she was heading down, and she knew when she got there that it was just plain WRONG period. She made the choice to continue down this road and she got what she deserved as did her husband.

New Jersey's corruption problem is the worst, if not the worst, in the nation," said another FBI official.

Incredibly, included in the sting was a kidney salesman who allegedly, "enticed vulnerable people to give up their kidneys for $10,000. This man would then turn around and sell the kidney for $160,000," said the FBI.

Hi,

We have two neutered chihuahuas and a big backyard near Hamilton Park. Just had a bad experience with a teenage dog sitter. I was thinking it would be great to find other responsible chihuahua owners in downtown JC to swap dog walks, feedings and even over-nights. We'd like to have a weekend or night away with out worry about our dogs. At the least maybe some playdates- our dogs love other chihuahuas and had lots of chi friends when we lived in Greenwich Village. It seems here in JC that the little dogs may be in the minority.

I'm off this summer and have lots of free time weekdays too.

Let's meet and get our chihuahuas together! We have 4 lb male and a 7lb female.

Cheers!

Actually it takes away your freedom to not be screened. In other words it takes away your choice, which in reality means you loose your freedom. I personally dont mind the screening, but I just wanted to correct and point out that your statement is incorrect.

I think it?s going to be a long wait, just plan on not using it for the rest of the summer, and if they finish sooner than it?s a plus. I think they are doing a fine job. I never thought of the park as beautiful before, though some parts of it were prettier than others. The park is/was very convenient. I realize how darn lazy I am by having the convenience taken away from me. I actually have to walk my dogs now, and guess what, they love it!!!!! Shame on me.
I welcome any change, and look forward to the renovation and the park being prettier than it was. No more ?cement park? and the value of my cement home goes up.... YIPPIE

While I recognize this is your first post on jclist, you can certainly reach out to my office via email/phone or any of the other council people, or the mayor's office who is the only branch of government that has direct oversight of personell per the Faulkner Act. it tends to be a better way then JCLIST postings.

I am out of town for the weekend but per your point I wanted to let you know that the HPNA leadership reached out to me early this morning and we were able to have the appropriate people get to Enos Jones today and solve this problem and clean up the trash bins that I was told were opened and all over Enos Jones. I obviously cant see it for myself but the Mayor's Chief of Staff was helpful in this.

With regards to the park space I wanted to update you as well.I am sure you are aware that we have worked with the HPNA and administration and have a solution which I believe was posted in other posts on this topic. In addition, I am sure you will be satisfied to know that we are working with the dog owner community and are VERY close to solving for a temp dog run closer to Hamilton Park that is acceptable to the community of dog owners. We should have thsi resolved I think this week as I recognize that while teh park renovation is great it does contribute to the shortage of open space.

I hope this helps and have a great memorial day weekend
Steve

Its things like this that got the man re elected. Thank you Steve.

Don?t just wish, call Al Lynch at Parks and Forestry (201 547-4449) and explain the need for more trashcans around the park. Don?t tell him I sent you? I bug them enough for VVP.

I do not just wish it. I have made 4 phone calls already, and i know 4 other people that have made those calls. They just dont want to give us trash cans!

On 9th, there is most definitely a garbage can. A few, in fact. Or, you can....wait for it... carry the poop until you find a garbage can.

I hear you. But... we need more trash cans. I have been carrying it inside and throwing it out at home. There was a few on 9th, now there is 1. There are far too many dogs in this area, and 1 trash can. ( they took the others away) They need more trash cans period. Maybe (big maybe) there would be less dog poop.

Woman ( i'm not going to get into other groups) have been given the right to vote since 1920. That means that 89 years ago that was not a choice for us. I am sure some of us have grandmothers that are that old. Why on earth a woman would not exercise her right to vote is mind boggling to me... LAzy LAzy.... I talked to 3 moms yesterday that didnt even know it was election day. That made me mad.
