Re: An open letter to the Dog Owners of DTJC (brace yourselves)

I really did "lol" at the suggestion of dna identification of poo as a way of "curbing" this heinous behavior. Ridiculous! It might work in a hamlet not in a busy city.

@ o73o2 - I like the idea!
@Seagull - Yes, that sounds like the same gross person.
@jcdd - I totally agree with your approach - call out these people and make them aware that what they are neglecting is wrong.
@dtjcview - You MAY be outraged but you might implode because you sound so afraid to make a stand. Btw ,I didn't make any inflammatory comments.

@dtjcview.... Nobody called the offending person "Scum" to their faces. Why do you think what was written is uncivilized? Free speech and thought has not been outlawed yet. I think anyone who objects to this outrage about all the dog crap is a part of the problem; that is my humble opinion. Do you think we should just turn a blind eye when the streets are being fouled because the city will eventually clean it up at taxpayers expense? That is uncivilized behavior (again in my humble opinion).
If you look at the rest of the world, there are countries where the dog owners would never consider not cleaning up after their pets, i.e. Japan and the streets are immaculate. Then, there are countries like France and the US where people choose to leave dog crap on public streets as a statement of their lack of pride.
To ignore the dog crap situation in Jersey City is uncivilized and unacceptable.

Re: Whole Foods in JC?

I would like to see Fairway or Eataly or Whole Foods, or Trader Joe's. What is so wrong about having something finer than what is already here? Why does that offend so many people? When businesses come into a community they contribute taxes and make life easier for the people in the community who actually pay taxes. Businesses also hire people in their community. I see that as all good.

Another thing to bring back which might also be helpful would be...shame. Set some decent standards and everyone should abide by them. If you see someone dropping trash on the street; call them out on it. I am so damned tired of people acting like animals (pigs). And that especially goes for the dirtbags who let their dogs crap on the streets and sidewalks and do not clean up after them. They are total scum.

I have some good video footage of a dog owner who let her Pitbull crap all over the street this evening. What does everyone think about that? She obviously had a guilty conscience, cause she took off running in the opposite direction once she noticed the camera, and I'm debating posting the video to youtube for you all to enjoy. She's obviously a repeat offender, because she didn't even have anything with her to clean it up. SCUM!

I used CapnJon's recommendation for an electrician and I have to say that I totally agree with his assessment of Avolar, Inc.
I had a small job where my under-counter light needed to be removed and a new fixture installed. Edgard showed up exactly when promised and charged exactly what I was quoted. He is a very smart and pleasant man. I wouldn't hesitate to employ him again.
Thanks again CapnJon!

To hero69:
Re: "Well, the parents should ask themselves some serious questions. Not much sympathy here. they remind me of these people who refuse to. get their children immunized"

IMHO you are one inhumane character! . The bottom line is that a couple who have waited 9 months for their baby to be born, had to instead bury their baby. You have no sympathy? Too bad. I guess you never experienced a tragedy? Horrible things happen when you least expect it. It could happen to anyone and one would hope that if something awful happened to you, people wouldn't blame you for the tragedy. Have some compassion!

Why don't you get a Wahl groomer with attachments and do it yourself? It's SO stressful to take a pet to be groomed. Also, brush your long-haired cat every day and it won't get knots.
Why did you pick a long-haired cat if you were going to shave it's fur? (Just saying)

If anyone has signed up for Amazon Prime (another rip-off in itself), be sure you cancel the automatic renewal. Once they start collecting tax I won't buy from Amazon anymore. What's the point?

Heads up Einstein.... Perhaps the reason the bagels taste stale is it takes some time to wrap up all the day old bagels around NY and ship them through the tunnel to Jersey? If you want fresh NY bagels ....go...to...NY

There is a wonderful company based here in Jersey City called Kozy
Events.
http://www.kozyevents.com/cfiles/home.cfm
It's owned and operated by Deborah Kozy and her sister-in-law Lauren.
They do VERY beautiful weddings and can implement any plan you wish. I HIGHLY recommend them.

If one can afford a Lexus, what is it to you??
Was this "official" driving on the sidewalk? The kid made the mistake of not crossing at the crosswalk. Guess what? That was HIS mistake, not the driver's mistake. Put the blame where it belongs . Nobody learns a lesson when the blame gets shifted.
