When you cherry pick and show one one on 6th street as the example for all of downtown homes, then you lie. For the record, public housing in Bayonne and other towns do make an abatement payment to their city hall, but in Jersey City they have not made a payment since the 1960s since they have a stipulation that they can deduct water and utilities. As those cost go up, they stopped paying the city money yet they receive the same services as everyone else. But no one talks about that.

Personally.. I paid about $10k less per year. People downtown should be happy that they had everyone in the Heights, Greenville, Bergen-Lafayette subsidizing them for a decade or more that the re-evaluation got stalled.

Colin Powell's family announced his death and according to his family he had the vaccine. If the administration put their effort on therapeutics, more lives would be save. It’s Sunday night again and the horns are blasting through Hamilton Park. I dread driving home from work in the late afternoon. Many times my street ( 10th Street ) turns into a one way with tunnel traffic creating a two lane one way! Horrible! I know a new bridge opened to Liberty State Park; is this the only reason traffic has become totally horrific in the past few months, especially on Sundays? We truly have become the 6th borough now!

Before covid-19 became the boogey man, around 50,000 people each year died from the typical flu and it is the typical person who is elderly or those with compromised immune problems but life went on. People under 50 should live their lives and those over 50 should be cautious.
