Remember when they went after Flood in the council chambers her fellow member shuffled her out of site.

Yes, I am fairly new here. But I refuse to think that because something has been done a certain way since the beginning of time it should be accepted. I'm not saying I'm the first to witness this and I know I'm not going to be the last. But we are ALL taxpayers and deserve civil servants to conduct themselves appropriately. Good, fair service DOES happen in other communities and JC deserves the same. I know there are watch dogs out there and I look forward to a time when all of our taxes are used in a manner that benefits it's citizens, not the coffers of civil workers.

I am very curious, however, if anyone besides me has taken this to the NJ state level for complaint and investigation.

I'm in aggrement with you, being treated in an uneducated manner as you were is deplorable. I think civil servants should be tested every year to justify their jobs. A friend of mine was trying to get a two commercial containers moved from the sidewalk area of two restaurants on Morris St. the City was no help till professionals moved in next door and knew the right buttons to press. The containers were gone as predicted. But please read 5 Finger Discount you'll get the picture. For years we were stifiled as citizens here and misunderstood if we looked outside of the box. But times are changing rapidly and the majority rules.

I think you should have to submit your fingerprints when you apply for a driver's license. I'm also for collecting a DNA sample from everyone commits a felony. What could it possibly hurt? My finger prints are on file. So far the bad people haven't hauled me off to a Big Brother mind control compound.

This issue is something David Koresh would have been paranoid about.

That would only happen if the judge over-ruled the plaintiff's objection for relevance, which is pretty unlikely, given that the subsequent acts and accolades of a police officer are entirely irrelevant to those officers' alleged conduct in this case.

DO NOT take Anonymous' advice. Tinting the front driver and passenger windows is not legal in NJ, and you will fail your DMV inspection (and they will make you remove the tint before they pass you again).

So it's OK to call someone David Koresh? Is that better than the word Friggin'?

You respond to one part of my post and don't realize the hypocrisy of your own post. Par for the course. Keep fighting for Ron Paul brother! I think he's really got a chance this year!

Yep...I think its OK to compare some of Obama's supporters to the followers of David Koresh. People cant get past the "charisma" and really understand what the man stands for.

And for the record, you and others are the ones who keep bringing up a certain candidate. Im not foolish enough to think he is going to win anything, but I am hopeful enough to think that some of his ideas and thoughts might rub off on the general public and some other candidates.

Watching disappointed Paul followers project their own worship tendencies on Obama supporters is morbidly fun. Talk about touching a nerve.

If that makes you want to call me names, then good for you. My anti-Obama sentiment does not automatically imply that I support the Republicans either, which seems to be a common misconception.

Curse/names? Which word was that - "idiot"? Ok, because i thought it was you who compared to Obama to David Koresh - or was that someone else with the very descriptive moniker of "anonymous"? Do you find it acceptable to refer to a potential president as the leader of a doomsday cult? Right, I've read a ton of your posts and you like to shade the facts so they suit your needs. Got it. But lets respond to the rest of your post shall we?

Un-American, now please tell me, what does that mean? Does that mean approving warrantless wiretaps of Americans? Or does that mean water boarding them?

There happens to be a ton of rampant fraud in the mortgage industry, so what exactly is your objection to having a database of fingerprints for people who work in that industry? What is unamerican about protecting people who want to achieve the...what's that phrase.... oh yes, the "American Dream"?

The reason you're an "idiot" (which apparently is a curse word, i wasn't aware) is because you post links to the conservative Heritage Foundation as if it were a respectable publication that we ought to listen to. It's a blog post from a writer on that website and it doesn't list any of the other 18 people on that bipartisan committee who supported the measure. Who were the 2 people who voted AGAINST the measure?

Sorry if you don't like being challenged but when you post ad hominem attacks on people with no factual backing, someone needs to take issue with that.

So sorry that offends you. Please accept my most humble apology!

I liked Nha Trang for a second, but now I can't stand it. The food is cut rate and filled with MSG, including the Pho. I've had way better Pho in the city.

I love Saigon Cafe, A) they deliver and B) their pork and vermicelli noodles is yummy. Some of their soups, like the asian noodle soup, are good, but their pho is pretty bland. Their Chinese style dishes are really tasty, but their chicken is a bit strange. Don't order chicken dishes!

Can't make it tonight, but could someone bring up the fact that we take our lives in hand everytime we cross Marin BLvd. by 9th -10th Street. Even if you are in the crosswalk, cars are zooming by at 60 mph.

I think we should put extra high speed bumps there!

I submitted a traffic sign request (for the 2nd time) to put a stop sign on Marin Blvd. and 9th St.
Speed bumps or a traffic light would also be good choices.

If more people submit similar requests, it might convince the government to finally do something about this intersection:
http://mycusthelp.com/JERSEYCITYNJ/_cs/RequestSelect.aspx

Any stop sign and/or traffic light must meet D.O.T. requirements before this can happen, this requires lengthy statistical data from both JCPD, the traffic /engineering dept. and an ordinance approved by council if we met the guidelines, it can take over a year for this process.

The D.O.T has very stick guidelines, (sometimes absurd i.e.: the Cole and Pavonia stop sign).

A good short-term solution is speaking with the east district commander and asks them to do radar enforcement. The speed limit is 25mph.

Have you called Councilman Fulop?

Thanks for the idea. I have just sent an e-mail to info@stevenfulop.com. I hope that e-mail reaches Steven Fulop.

I received this e-mail response to my traffic sign request:

"In reply to your request. A work order has been issued to conduct a traffic engineering survey at Marin Blvd. & 9th St. This survey consists of a 25 hour vehicle count, accident analysis, collision diagram and condition diagram. If the data collected at this intersection falls within the parameters mandated by the Department of Transportation for the installation of a traffic signal or an addition traffic control device the it will then be forwarded to them for their review and recommendation.

The Department of Transportation does not permit speed bumps on a public right away. However, an Investigator from this Division will inspect the intersection to insure that all traffic, parking and pavement signs are in place."

I received this update today:

"The traffic engineering survey has been completed for Marin Blvd & 9th St. The traffic engineering data collected indicates a traffic signal may be warranted. Therefore, the data has been forwarded to the Department of Transportation along with an "Authorization to Design". I will advise you of the DOT's recommendation".

Thanks all for your comments. Sorry; I was being a bit bored and that's why I posted so many threads. This site seems to be visited by many people, and the response time is fast. So, I went over the top, perhaps.

Okay, I'll shut up now for awhile. I've got to get back to work.

But I really am excited to move to JC. There are a couple of places to play music in the city, which I wasn't able to attend before. But it looks like I can easily get there and come home at a reasonable time. I am most excited about that.
