In probably one of the more congested areas of the country open space and breathable are such valuable premiums.
There's a monstrosity being built (supposedly) in the meadowlands that has all of the amenities you could wish for at any given time.
Why not pack a little something to eat, bring a kite or a soccer ball and enjoy the breeze down by the water?
Development of one kind will surely bring development of another. The merchant class is relentless in pursuit of monies, and they'll slip into every little loophole.

Keep it green.

Keep it passive and green, J.C. does not need another amusement park for the rich.

Of course it could. It would be a great place for outdoor concerts. There was a plan to build a marina, hotel and restaurants. Which would have made it a destination. But of course it was shot down. Half the park is unusable. This could have been done by forcing any developer to remediate the same footprint they develop. But no. Half the park will remain unused for another 25 yrs

With its spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Liberty State Park (LSP) easily ranks as the crown jewel of New Jersey’s state park system but some people are asking why it can’t offer more in the way of amenities. Questions surrounding food concessions, transportation options and a renovation of the crumbling train shed have been overshadowed by the debates over Caven Point and the restoration of the park interior.
