Unfinished business in the Philippines: Anthony Bourdain

By Anthony Bourdain, Host
Updated 3:34 PM ET, Fri April 22, 2016

(CNN)Tagalog, the language of the Philippines, is not an uncommon thing to hear in my household.

Like many children all over the world, my daughter arrived home from the hospital to find a Filipino baby nurse.

I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.

There are a few other places on West Side Ave. besides Rowena. There's even another (bigger?) Fiesta Grill further down.

Calling Talde's a Filipino place to eat at is disingenuous at best. Their menu is a pan-Asian mish mosh of everywhere with one dish on the menu that is labeled as Filipino.

Great article - if you're adventurous, everything mentioned is good. We have pandesal for breakfast every morning, and the deep fried pork belly at Fil-Am on weekends (cheap at $9.99 a pound) is the bomb.
