That's exactly right. And if too many people show up to speak against something, it is often removed from the agenda.

I know a couple people in DT JC whose old houses were built with a shared waste pipe to the street. They also had connecting roof drains. You will need to consult with someone who has done plumbing downtown for a lot of years, and maybe the building department can be of help.
It seems to me that when you bought the property the deed included an easement for that drainpipe, and if the buildings were built that way, any expense required to change it should be a shared expense.
That's my two cents.

Please.
If the elevator ran directly to the platform, it would have to start from the middle of Christopher Columbus Drive.

What the PATH means when they say "subject to a 15 minute delay" is that you can expect to arrive at the end of the line about 15 minutes later than you normally would.
I've asked.

So why can't they just run trains from JSQ to WTC and back in the meantime?

What Joshua Parkhurst originally wrote has the ring of truth, in my opinion.
"A lot of patronage employees are upset that they are now required to go out into the field and actually do work."

There is no source listed for this story. It's third hand and doesn't even include the name of the town so that it could be fact-checked through the police.
In other words, it's been made up from whole cloth to get people worked up into a lather.
I hope you realized that when you posted it.

The surge wasn't really very high. I have to think that a good part of your problem comes from the runoff of the Turnpike spur.

Re: Leak On Roof

If you've truly found the source of the leak, that's the hard part.
Home Depot sells roofing cement, some in caulk tubes probably, that can be applied onto wet surfaces. Apply it with a plastic trowel and wear disposable gloves. Maybe even a little fiber tape to span a gap. That is really all a roofer will do, unless there is a whole area that needs to be reflashed, or something.
Here's the idea.

I did think that was covered in "The problem is the populations we are trying to serve."

I was watching this documentary on PBS the other night. I recommend it highly to anyone who wants to understand more deeply some of the challenges of educating kids in the inner cities.
The problem is money.
The problem is corruption.
The problem is teachers and what they are trained to do.
The problem is the populations we are trying to serve.
Everyone posting in this thread here is right about the problems that they see..
The challenge is deciding what we are going to do about it. I think that by now we should be able to recognize the cost of not doing it.

That's exactly right! You can ride your bike in NYC to the PATH, hop off the train in JC, hop on another bike and continue your trip.
Without having to take your own bike on the PATH or leave it locked up outside the station.

Notice that they haven't cancelled the Hoboken-33rd St. train.
If the problem is in Chelsea, there is no way that only the JSQ train should be affected. And there is no reason that a repair should take so long. What they have done is cut the frequency of trains by 50% by canceling the JSQ train. They would finish a lot faster if they stopped both lines. Or, they could cut the number of trains on each line by 50%, but that would inconvenience the riders from Hoboken. As usual, JC is getting screwed. And the travelers on NJ Transit trains terminating in Hoboken are getting preferential treatment. Like they do every day.

The way I see it the manipulation of the law under the previous administration trumped community input.
And someone lost their job.
