Apple /PC computer help
#1
Home away from home
Home away from home

i have an old desktop from 2003 dell and a laptop from 2005 dell as well. I'm getting a MacBook and want move all my stuff over but it's such a daunting task to think about. I'm not
Computer illiterate but I just don't have the time. Anyone know someone that can take care of such a task that is reasonable I'm trying to avoid geek squad and places like that. Bottom line I want my files moved and perhaps a couple programs I just don't have the time to spend on it. Looking for a local computer genius so to speak that understands both PC and Apple. Thanks.

Hi all.
Any recommendations on someone that can tell me if I can put an Intex above found pool on my patio. All the patios in my building are constructed with steel beams with concrete flooring and anchors to rear of building and into the ground. The pool would be 8ft diameter and 650 gallons about the size of the patio is probably 30ft by 12ft but I want to be safe. Not looking to break the bank here for a yay or neigh but have never had experience with this. Any recommendations that would be reasonable you think for this assessment would be appreciated. Thanks.

i would say the biggest problem with this place is the music - it can go from just a regular peaceful environment where you can enjoy your dinner and drinks to blaring music of any random kind. then silence. then the ipad gets handed to someone and a whole different genre is blasting until that song ends and then something else. its just very inconsistent and in my opinion annoying. someone needs to get control of the music in my opinion and then work on the other issues from there. unless you're there to control the ipad and get hammered it's just an unpleasant experience all around in my opinion.

Renting an Apartment/condo in foreclosure

does anyone have any experience with renting a unit in which the lease states the unit is in foreclosure proceedings. i know the lease could end early of the bank forecloses on the unit but as a tenant - does anyone know the law allows you to stay once the bank forecloses. can the bank as the new owner just give you 30 days notice to vacate. - there is no security deposit involved so i am not worried about that part - just legally how soon after foreclosure the person would need to vacate the premises.
thanks

john moss is not very personable on the phone
i can agree with that but if you want a quality inspection and someone that is not in bed with the realtors to move the property. he's your guy. does a very thorough job and is on buyer's side for sure. he'll point out a lot of stuff to you so you can make an informed decision. his personality is not the best but he is good at his job. he is more friendly in person though...

i have seen him pick up phone receivers on phone booths and spit on them - also seen the banging thing on phone booths as well. got to be carefull with schizo's though - remember that light rail incident over at LSP where a schizo stabbed and killed someone waiting for the train. i used to think he was harmless until that incident occurred. you can't be too careful.

creativeconquests is a melodramatic drama queen in my opinion, i could be wrong but after reading all her rants throughout the years i think it may be much less accurate than not... remember that post she wrote "hubby" like a 50 times in a row....(that's for the old schoolers) not that it has anything to do with this.. just saying. (in fact, in that thread, if i remember correctly, i believe she swore off jclist for good, perhaps that's why i remember it so well)..conceivably this did happen but i highly doubt it was as dramatic as she has stated...just my opinion. just be careful and aware as anyone should be in an urban environment. if it was as dramatic as she stated i apologize in advance. just my thoughts.

Re: Property taxes likely to go up again.... a lot!

i filed an appeal with a tax attorney. according to the attorney, with the ratio and purchase price of my unit, my taxes should be less than half of what they are... however the assessor wouldn't budge and was ready to go to litigation. i didn't want to get that deep into it. the most he would give me was a $400 a year break but keep in mind i already pay over $5k for a 600sq ft condo. i took the $400 and just went on my way. the system seems like it can't be beaten at city hall.

i've bought 2 self made sixers so far.
i really like the coffee porter and there was some caribbean ale which was very good. sorry can't remember the correct name. the engine oil i thought was very good as well. just my thoughts.

i really wish their chimay was better priced because i would buy it a lot more but it is the same as the local liquor stores. maybe a few cents cheaper at best..........

even having one of those boxes for a year or two max i think would clean up that area. within that time the vagrants would most likely move on to another place they could hang and deal in peace... plus with the new development there things should turn around within that time frame..hopefully..

park on columbus after 5pm on weekdays from greene all the way to marin blvd. you need to move your car by 7am the following day but make sure you park on the side where street sweeping won't be the following day otherwise you will need to move it by 5 or 6 i think. it is free you just have to be smart about it.

maybe i'm going at the wrong times to pathmark but i have seen almost fist fights between women there near the checkout lines. god knows what they were arguing about but they had no problem using obscenities in front of each others children and telling each other they were going to kick each others ass. in addition, the riff raff hanging around right outside the exit is a nightmare to maneuver around as well.
