Maybe you should present some facts. "Poor franchise owner"? Please. Like a gas station by the Holland Tunnel is some mom & pop operation.

"Two refineries owned by oil giant BP account for 97 percent of all flagrant violations found in the refining industry by government safety inspectors over the past three years, a Center for Public Integrity analysis shows. Most of BP?s citations were classified as ?egregious willful? by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and reflect alleged violations of a rule designed to prevent catastrophic events at refineries. Looks like they're setting up the seating for this as of tonight. I suspect you'll get a decent show from other spots the the waterfront, even Bowling Green. Probably just won't have the adrenaline factor of something flying 200 feet above your head.

If I had to hear them at night I'd certainly being saying something to whoever is out there. I just can't advocating making up stories so the cops will come out. That just invites them to not take a serious report, well, seriously.

That said, the cops were at that park entrance when I went by about 20 minutes ago. There were some folks on the court that seemed to be getting ready to leave (possibly drunk, the girl stumbled). Don't know what the story was, but maybe somebody here took the initiative.

The irony of you getting a good night sleep from doing something unethical and illegal is just too funny to take seriously.

Saw this last night and was pretty disappointed. Who the hell do they expect to pick up after them?

Garbage can by that north exit was already overflowing. They might need to put another one there just for volume.

7.2 million from a jury at a time we have 19 year old kids coming back from a war without limbs and getting nothing but good will.

Makes me ill.

Is there a single person here that would defend that judgment?

Great turnout today. Looked like at least 500 people of all ages. JCPD did a great job with traffic and cheering folks on. Grandmas were clapping from windows, corner boys were smiling at some of the different bikes, and everywhere you looked somebody was taking pictures. Good vibes all around.

To the folks who spent the time and energy organizing this - Great job and thanks!

Corzine was waste of time. No doubt. Don't let that distract you from the issue that Christie will lower taxes for all the wrong people and let NJ's already struggling large cities die all over again by pulling money from schools and public safety without offering any solutions.

He said it right there. He's not for improved government, he's just for smaller government and lower taxes. That's it. Tear it down and let someone else worry about the ramifications. We've seen this movie. Doesn't end well.

Removing Justice Wallace from the court was plainly an asshole move and he's just getting started. I fail to see how you can live in this city and think this man will benefit this town one iota.

Three-year-old Jersey City tot found wandering streets at 3 a.m.

Three-year-old Jersey City tot found wandering streets at 3 a.m. By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal April 25, 2010, 5:15PM A 3-year-old boy was reunited with his mom after being found alone without shoes after wandering from his Jersey City home early this morning, police reports said. A 40-year-old woman called the police after spotting the child standing near Bergen and Fairview avenues at around 3:17 a.m. police reports said. The child pointed out where he lives to the police, who found the apartment door unlocked, reports said. After knocking and getting no response police found the child's 21-year-old mom asleep in bed. The mother identified the child as hers and went with him to Jersey City Medical Center for an evaluation, police said. No charges were filed against the mother, but the incident is still under investigation and police notified the state Department of Youth and Family Services, reports said. --- I really just wanted to post this story as an excuse to post this.

This should go over well...

"Sharpton was invited by long-time associate, Reverend Herbert Daughtry, National Minister of The House of the Lord Churches and a former Jersey City resident, to address the concerns of teens in the community as well as bring attention to the their six-point program.

Daughtry became involved in the efforts when the parents of Kwadir Felton, the 18-year-old who was shot in the face by a police officer in an unmarked car who said Felton tried to rob him, reached out to the reverend to help them raise money for Felton's medical expenses and raise awareness about the incident."
