The americas would have been discovered with or without Colombus as well.

You're missing the point on this one.

I was around and you ARE exaggerating. McConn is a legend in his own mind. NY money built downtown Jersey City. Not McConn, not Schundler. However, McConn has his loyal legion of lackeys who conveniently overlook his racism, substance abuse, bullying and felony conviction.

I hope that the voters of Jersey City turn out in April to vote this arrogant bully and felon off the Board of Education.

Theres no doubt that NY money built DTJC, thats not in questions, but you need to accept the fact that Gerry placed the wheels in motion for all of that to open up.

Say what you will, call him a bully and what not, but what successful mayor do you know that wasn't considered a bully? Prime ex:Giulianni, not liked by those who live off the hard working tax players, why? Cuz he told it like it was, well toooooooo bad, guess it depends on what side of the fence your standing on, nonetheless, your entitled to yr opinion, doesn't mean thats its right or fair.

Christie is pushing hard for this and like it or not, this is the future for most municipalities, too much waste in local and state Gov.

Power to the new Gov!

We helped bring lynching to IRAQ!

It's a FREE and DEMOCRATIC country NOW! Yippee!

Maybe YOU can move there and enjoy the freedoms we reigned down on the people!

And what would YOU do with those CONVICTED here in Jersey City -- of 'white-collar crimes'?

JerseyCityPower, what would you recommend? Any criminal element that would shoot up a street trying to get at eachother, regardless of the time of day, who else they may kill, or what buildings they are shooting into (i.e. a daycare), obviously has no regard for anyone or anything but themselves. In my opinion, they should loose their right to participate in society. However, with our current criminal justice system, even if these guys go to jail they can still run their activities, So what is the point of jail. I mean a guy got shot in the face a month ago and was arrested again in this sweep.

After they have all had access to their rights guaranteed them by the constitution, if they are found guilty by a jury of their peers, why not parade them around town and invite everyone down to watch them hang. Think of the impact that class trip would have students growing up. Wanna bet that drug violence goes down in the years to come if in the back of your mind you have to worry about being hanged to death in the park in your neighborhood with all your friends and family watching?

It's worth a try in my opinion, nothing they have done so far seems to work. Do you have any suggestions?

Great point and furthermore, some articles of the constitution just don't apply to today's culture sorry to say.
Our capitol punishment system is a complete joke, lets face it most people that get the death sentence are allowed to amke a mochery of the system for atleast 10 years, and who's footing the bill for these scumbags?? and with some luck, they die beforehand thumbing their nose at the systems and society.
We as a nation have to put down out puritinistic ways and allow for public executions, theres no doubt in my mind that it would have a huge impact!
My 2 cents!

Just doing my best to be politically correct so people don't jump down my throat and throw "racist" around. It's so much easier for people do call others racist rather than addressing the actual problem and admitting the truth.

Mistake#1, You shouldn't care what others think or percieve your comments if you feel thats the truth and not being malicious.

The Avg person doesn't have to cater to the public like the politicians in order to get their meal ticket.

What you stated is what the majority of people witness and think regardless of race, &creed, so don't sweat your comments.

I've spent the better part of the last 25 years going to this mall on and off and can see with my eyes who the trouble makers are, that doesn't mean that the entire race is that way, but with regards to the Nwpt mall, they happen to be the ones creating chaos!

I agree - I have been to the mall and movies numerous times, although I avoid any movie theater on weekends, the weekdays I have gone there it is quiet and never had a problem. Also never had a problem in the mall itself either... nor have I ever seen it being trashy I don't know I don't need Short Hills mall to impress me. We do live in an urban area and we have all types of people that live here, we cannot be the cookie cutter Short Hills mall, that will never happen.

I don't quite understand when you write that "We do live in an urban area and we have all types of people that live here." No one is complaining about the types of people that frequent the mall. We are only complaining about the behavior of these people.

With that being said, most of the people who's behavior I have a problem with are not white nor asian. Mostly black.

Now let's not misinterpret. I'm not saying I don't like black people. I am saying that I do not like the behavior of some black people.

Like one of the previous posters stated, "Its an urban mall"
best message to send Simon properties is to just avoid it if one doesn't want to deal with some of the trash that frequents it.

Its definatley not the only mall in the entire state!

The problem with the mall is the people that frequent it. Ghetto trash people = ghetto trash mall. There are only a handful of stores in that mall that I would shop in. However, I usually don't. Why? Because it is a disgusting place filled with disgusting people. I get in my car and I drive to short hills.

And I try so damn hard to not stereotype. It's just damn near impossible not to.

I agree, its impossible not to sterotype and unfortunatley, those few make it very bad for the majority, thats reality!

Riverside Sq mall (Hackensack)is just as nice if not better than Shorthills and a lot closer.

The state is on the edge of Bankruptcy, This Gov has to make some very un-popular decisions.Unlike his predecessor who's only concern was sipping lattes in hoboken over looking the nyc skyline from his penthouse and was a 'do nothing" gov, this guy at the very least has the right attitude to approach our financial woes.

Its time that the schools get rid of their top heavy $$$$ employees (Epps is a perfect example) and start trimming a lot of fat which is way over due.

Same goes for NJT and all the other public entities that rely heavy on state funding.

As for the unions, guess what, if your rank and file move out of the state, theres plenty of people left here that are more than willing to take those jobs and don't need the unions!

Heres a novel idea, get rid of the food court, and bring in more stores that cater to a non -teen consumer crowd.

Its not easy, because theres a delicate balance needed in order to sustain the profitability factor when you turn away a group of individuals, but where is the line drawn in the sand between safety and Bussiness?

Its a shame that we blame the Mall, lack of a community ctr,etc etc, when the focus should be on the house holds that breed this type of anti-social behavior.
